Hopefully not just local to Speke Retail park, Liverpool but I thought this was a hot deal and worth posting. They had one in a glass case but mine came from the storeroom so I know they had at least one left.

Its the one with a 500GB drive, sorry to say the free drive offer that started yesterday from Netgear doesnt apply to this model, only the larger ones.

Blurb:

The ReadyNAS Duo is perfect for homes with more than one computer. Unlike a USB drive, the ReadyNAS connects to the network and is simultaneously accessible via all connected Windows or Macintosh computers. If there is a broadband Internet connection and a home router, the ReadyNAS can be set up to provide secure access to all the stored files remotely via the Internet.

Hello yossarian, thanks for posting this - with the price ending in .97 (based on previous deals listed from the DSGi group) it's a clearance item thus not available to look up online.

Could you please post the SKU code (located on the receipt) for it enables the means for other members to call up their local store and query whether or not the item is in stock there/next nearest store.

Cheers.

edit: Never mind, thanks for posting a picture
SKU: 657110

Use saynoto0870 to find your local store number without having to pay the premium rate.
Good luck in your search everyone!

I've checked in the stoke-on-trent area and they said that the nearest store with stock is liverpool

After looking at the retail price of this item I decided to call my local to check whether they have any in stock - not necessary but thought someone in my family could benefit.

Just to give you guys a heads up, Brent Cross nor Staples Corner branches DO NOT have any in stock - upon asking if he could do a region stock check he said that only Currys Digital in Croydon has stock but did not specify the quantity or the condition.

Using find a store I'm guessing he was talking about the following store:

Currys Digital
115/116 Whitgift Centre
Croydon
CR0 1UT

I advise that you call them in advance to confirm and to perhaps reserve it before making the journey.

And, looking at google maps, TFL's list of planned works and the weather I'm going to pass on chasing this.
Again, good luck to those trying to find one.
Cheers

None In Blackpool either.
Hmmmphhh.

None in Scotland - guess it is one of those right time / right place deals :(

I've got one with 2 x 500Gb. They are not flawless but at that price it's a steal. I use mine to store my music, act as a media player store and PC backup.

It's an absolute bargain at this price, I paid £140 for mine with a free 500gb harddrive, worth every penny.

Not in Ashford or Canterbury

think this is the one I bought last year £150 or so with one free 500GB drive

so this is a good deal, though does sound like a one off

I just ordered the RND2000 (I have Samsung 1.5TB F2 HDD ready for it) from amazon for £149.99 the other day, cheapest I could find at the time.

If you can get one at the reduced price then its a total bargin!

Is the samsung drive on the compatability list? if not you could have problems as the readynas is very picky about the drive that you install.

I checked out the Netgear forums before I purchased my drive and although it isn't on the 'official' compatibility list, it is on the user community list so im fairly confident I wont have problems.

I'll soon find out though :?

I phoned Currys customer service and they checked the availabilty of the readyNAS at my local store (woking in surrey), and they said they coudl not find any stock anywhere - apparently their system will sometimes pick up stores other end of the country as being 'local', but nothing popped up. So it appears at the very least there is no stock in any store within an hour or so of Woking! Pity as seemed a real good deal...
