THIS IS THE CHEAPEST ON THE NET SO FAR!! PLUS 1TB DRIVE! And you get a free 500GB Drive from netgear if you register before 31st August 2010. Not bad if you ask me!

Also supports JBOD now via firmware update (as well as RAID 1) so you can access the total storage of whatever's in both drive bays - if you don't need the redundancy of raid 1.

Centralise all your digital media (videos, music, photos) in a single, safe location

Fast, stylish, easy to use browser based interface with embedded media player

Embedded DLNA media server plays content on XBox360, PS3, compliant TVs and more

Share photo and video albums with friends and family over the internet or via Facebook

Protect all your valuable documents by backing them up on the optional 2nd hard drive bay

I'd like to pick you up on two points:
1) I don't think you get the free 500GB drive - that is only with the MS2000 model which comes with no drives (although I would happily be proved wrong on this).
2) It's not the cheapest on the net so far, although it may be cheapest at present. I bought mine for 99.99 from Amazon a few months back.

Still a good deal though.

For my tuppence worth, give this NAS a wide berth, particularly if your plans are to backup critical data. You will get very much what you pay for; you pays yer money.........

Redcup:- Understood! Only my first post so still learning the ropes! Although, a friend bought the same one and got the 500GB Drive too, from Netgear. I know the promotion says you must by the M2000... but this is still the same thing, although model number changes to M2110 because of the drive inside. How have you found yours?

Tailhook:- I've read good and bad reviews, but mostly good! Seems perfect for what I want it for; I'm sure it will suffice for others too!

Yep, it's now out of stock @ Amazon, reverting to marketplace seller instead.

You can still order it from Amazon via the options on the right, but when it states: "Usually dispatched within 1 to 2 months"

It does what I want - plenty of storage and RAID. I would rather have had a QNAP but they are almost twice the price!
