NETGEAR WNDR3700 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router

Check a full detailed review below

Been researching for my ideal router for past 6 months and had my eye on this constantly prior to it being released. Always been waiting for the price to drop slightly it retails over £100 £120+ in most places. Was literally about to buy one on eBay for £90 which very rarely come about, I think 3 have ever appeared at that price and in "used" condition. This one is brand new and with the help of £7 discount thread as below

You can get £7 off as well as a potential 5.5 to 6% TopCashback plus a further 1% bonus over the christmas period. TCB may not track as you're using a voucher code for the £7 off but worth trying.

Getting the code is tricky, took me 3 tries and had to use an obscure e-mail address in the end but it worked. Can always ask somone for a code or to sign you up. Don't do referals here though, take it to pm's

Brilliant router; I paid about £130 a few weeks back and don't regret it - this seems a great price.

Morning! I'm green so please can someone tell me, I have the dg834gt wireless netgear router with only 2gb speed on orange will this make my connection any faster at all? At the mo I have a desktop, ipod touch, iphone, ps3 and wii running through it, will this be better than the one I have as my internet connection runs very slow when the kids are playing on their ps3 / wiis? My son is also getting a laptop for christmas so that'll be on it too! Will I need to also upgrade my internet package with Orange?
Many Thanks in advance for any info / advice

no, won't make a blind bit of difference. The bottle neck is you broadband connection - by a considerable margin.

Not without connecting it to a separate adsl modem/router, as it doesn't have a built in ADSL modem.

As the previous poster says, it's your adsl connection that's the limiting factor. If you have more than one telephone socket in your home, then you might be able to improve your adsl connection speed by disconnecting the ring wire at the master socket (or fitting an Iplate if you prefer), or by isolating the ADSL signal from the extensions using a faceplate filter. You can find out if any improvement can be made by making a note of your router's connection speed and noise margin and attenuation (reboot it and allow it to reconnect to get current stats), then plug it into the test socket behind the master socket (doing so should disconnect all the extensions) and checking if either the downstream noise margin or the connection speed has increased, or attenuation has fallen. A sustained increase in noise margin should trigger the line monitoring equipment at the exchange to increase the connection speed, but this may take several days.

See http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/socket.htm for more details.

Unless this router wakes you up with a fresh brew I can't see how this is a hot deal. It is just a router. I got mine free with my broadband package.

Flame away :p
