i purchased one of these 2 years ago from the BT internet shop, initially for the USB connection(to view photos on tv) and the spdif out (to record digital radio onto md/pc). BT had put their badge on it and sold it for £65.
i returned the product after 6 months.

problem 1:unstable picture which was improved by touching the USB port or attaching a USB device (e.g.mouse).

problem 2:unstable picture which was improved by holding the coaxial cable.

problem 3: electric shock from the USB connection.

The returned product still displayed the same problems.

Buyers beware!
Thanks for the feedback apreece501 and Welcome to HotUKDeals :)

I'm sorry to see you've had a bad experience with yours. I've had one for around three years and it's never been a problem at all. Firmware upgrades have kept it up to date. Excellent picture quality, recording from Scart to DVD recorder, great! USB port can be used to connect to broadband, but dial up eaily used via telephone socket [firmware upgrades this way too]. Auto tuning is easy as abc, signal received via ordinary non digital roof top aerial here.

Mine is the NetGem as above, not the BT version, but does the same as theirs. Also available for £20 from 247electrical is the wireless keyboard remote [small qwerty keyboard]...
Excellent freeview viewers - I have two and never had a problem.
excellent piece of kit when you plug in a wireless USB adapter and browse the net from the sitting room

I've never tried a wireless USB adaptor with mine Have you got yours working with broadband using this method? If so, which USB adaptor are you using?

Thanks for the info :)

Nice one! Thanks rorynolan :) When I bought mine, only a couple of adaptors were able to be used with it and I didn't have wireless anyway. Firmware upgrades have bought it up to date and I think I'll be getting the LinkSys WUSB11 v.2.8 myself, to go with the rest of my LinkSys gear ;)
Or LinkSys WUB54g even :D
I have just noticed that the price (excluding Quidco) has dropped even further.
Yesterday's price: £59.14
Today's price: £56.84

Both prices include VAT and standard delivery.
Thanks for the updated price AardvarkTrainer ;)

with the best efforts & systems in the world, such things can never be
completely overcome.

Please accept our sincerest apologise for this, we do hope it does not lead to
too much disappointment.

At we have the widest & best range of quality products
available anywhere so please feel free to browse the site or email us back with
any questions you may have.

Of course we have refunded your money and this should show up on your account
