£100 Cash back – Promotion Code: Q4C100

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

INSTRUCTIONS (Credit to Degon)

Once you've received your printer unpack it and note the serial number on the back of the machine.

Go here ... http://www.brother.co.uk/latest-promotions/colour-laser-cashback and actually read the text above the green "Register" button. Assuming you will be wanting the £100 cashback you will need to enter the promo code Q4C100 when you register your printer (I missed that bit but a phonecall to Brother did sort things out the next day).

Click on the green Register button and register for an account with Brother. Verify the email they send you.

Next go to your account and click on "Register Devices" (I think). Here you will need to enter your serial number but if you actually enter the serial no as it is on the back of the machine it will be rejected. You ignore the first 6 characters - the number they want starts with the second letter (ie the last 9 characters from the serial no.. The model no. will be entered for you when the serial no. is recognised. Then you need to enter the promo code in the promo box.

You then go on to enter the requested info including your address and bank details for them to send the cashback to. As mentioned in another post, when entering your address "House Name" is a compulsory field so just enter a . there. You are given an address to send your invoice to so be sure to note it down.

That's pretty much it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Invoice can also be emailed to: [email protected] (instead of faxing / posting as specified).

Nearly jumped for this but wired network only has put me off I'm afraid, as I have enough cables running about the place already.

Similar model - not quite as good as the HL-L8250, but good nonetheless:

Is £70-80 for a set of compatible toners about right for the HL-L8250CDN?

Sounds about right for some of the compatible ones.
I don't know which compatible ones are best to get.

I'm looking to possibly refill:

Urefilltoner rate is as one of the best printers to refill:

Plug it into a wireless powerline adapter. You'll still be able to see it from your wireless devices.

Apple AirPrint works with this once it's plugged in to your wireless router

Worth doing, plug it into your wireless router/wifi expander or get a wifi dongle for it! Both very cost effective and will give you a great colour laser that has wifi for less than a steak dinner for 2!

Brilliant old skool company with eithics there Cap!

Plus all their products work, they do what they say [purchased some refills for a HP Laserjet 8 years ago that got damp and they swapped them out for free!] they will, if you can get over the hurdle of having to empty and refill, whatever laser you have, URE are one of the best value for money alternatives ;-)

Also, they have FUN tutoring|showing|selling stuff!

nice printer , not sure about toner prices, seen set fro about £70 ebay ships from us may have customs or £88 uk supplier
looking for replacement for my mono cannon laser however steep toner prices bit off putting
heat anyway good deal with cash back
#11
The downloaded pdf spec sheet says that the supplied ("inbox") toners are fully filled Standard Yield (CMYK 2,500/1,500/1,500/1,500 pages). This unlike many printers that are supplied with 50% filled starter toners. The toners themselves are worth, at this supplier's price, £198.96 +VAT.

On the downside, this makes buying consumables another stupid situation where it is cheaper to buy a new printer, throw the hardware away, and keep the cartridges.

Great find - hot!

We've got three of these, they are superb for the money, we also got the £100 cashback about 2 months ago (I posted as a deal on here.

We use these toners, we've one split on us but the rest have been great (the 3 star review is ours, they've been better since then), we're on our 6th set now (we print quite a lot).

I pulled the trigger on this, been looking for an auto duplex laser for my home office, at this price its a no brainer
Thanks op - heat

As others have said, once plugged in to your router it effectively becomes wireless because your computer will find it when you search your wireless network. You can certainly print from your android phone using the Brother app.
#16
No built-in Google Cloud printing though, I guess?

Edit: To answer my own question. Yes it does. It has Apple Airprint and Google Cloud print. It just got *really* tempting. Lack of cloud printing is the only real problem I have with my current HL-3040CN.

Depends on the thickness of the paper.... We use a 140g photographic paper and the quality is superb, certainly good ebough for my wifes photo albums anyway. However if you put 200+gsm through then the printer struggles and gets paper jams etc, it's simply not designed for that grade of paper.... It's more of an office printer.

I haven't tried it with photo paper, but I believe (from other reviews) it doesn't give spectacular photo prints, more general business printing.

I have a couple of Brother printers and they are great.
This one is a bit BIG though! More the size of an office printer than a home one. Great deal, so long as you know what you're letting yourself in for.

I may be wrong, but from my understanding you shouldn't use photo paper or any coated paper in a laser printer. Because of the heat from printing it melts the coating and damages the printer, For photo printing there really is no reasonably priced alternative to an ink jet printer.

Staples or Argos if in-store is your preference.

Amazon or Viking if you can wait for it to be delivered.

For anyone following this thread, I had mine delivered today, found on Amazon instead for £167 (so only £67 after cashback, which I've confirmed is eligible). Insanely good price. I print booklets, and it works great, good quality too.

I bought mine yesterday; arrived today. Got paper from Wilko in the end. Prints well although does come out a bit curly. Really pleased. Not too sore didn't get from Amazon, they've had quite enough of my custom lately :-)

Wasnt sure if Blitz online counted as a Brother authorised reseller...

Hi - just wanted to check if you confirmed that Amazon are an authorised dealer, or the 3rd party company Blitz? Amazon do sell the printer also (but at over £200)

I contacted Brother and they confirmed the Amazon seller is fine for the cashback promotion.

£155.67 from Flubit. Taking a chance I can get cashback. Spoke to Brother yesterday and as long as it's a proper UK item (not from Ireland, mainland Europe etc) I should be able to claim. Then spoke to Flubit and they assured me they only use UK suppliers with UK stock. Will let you know how I do. Fingers crossed.

Have just had my printer delivered and the invoice is from.....would you believe....Blitz. :| Yes, the Amazon seller.
So, going on some of the previous posts here, I'm looking good for the rebate. 8) Will update you to Brother's response.

I also see that the original link price for this HUKdeal has gone up to £200 at Leo's.
