I hate to flame anyone but the laptop is last years model and for that money today you would expect a dual core2duo cpu and at least a x1400 gpu and windows vista.
#2
quite a nice spec though for the money as i have not seen many with 17" screens for that price even though it came out in January 2006
#3
I agree, for a 17" Sony and decent spec it looks good value for money :)

Thanks for the pointer amithanda and Thanks for your first deal post by the way!

Play would have to knock off a further £200 for it to be a bargain IMHO.

at least a x1400 gpu
Are you serious? The X700 whups anything less than an X1600; only the X1650 will beat it. The X1400 is pretty basic, performing on a par with an X550/X600SE.

This is a very good price for a laptop with this size and resolution screen and, if you're bothered by it, brand. And with two hard drives? You could fit a couple of 160GB drives and have 320GB total; that's huge for a laptop. The Pentium M is still a good chip.

Yes, it's an old model, but try getting a similar spec from Dell and you'll be looking at £1000.
