Just out of curiosity (I'd never actually buy an apple product!), what makes the iPod nano distinctive now it has no click wheel?

touch interface makes the nano good however since iphones apple has been moving away from physical controls to touch enabled controls makes their products slightly unique

How is that a better deal? It's just for an iPod touch?! My link is covering the whole range.

Go and find a better deal for the Nano or Shuffle... Otherwise no reason to vote it cold? This could help people get a decent deal on the Nano / Shuffle...

Apples new products are so derivative, there's absolutely no innovation just more enslavement to itunes and thieving of ideas from elsewhere. I have a Ipod touch 64gig and an iRiver P33. The iRiver was nearly half the price yet superior in almost every way, especially considering it came out over 2 years before, it can even run almost any file I throw at it and it supports drag and drop!

The half-assed 3rd gen touch upgrade (they couldn't even be bothered to disguise the unused camera slots on the 3G ipod touch), the signal problems of the 4th gen iPhone plus the ipad fiasco, not too mention the ongoing lawsuits with Nokia et al over the proprietary tech ean that hopefully Apple begin to genuinely innovate again.

ooo a 64gb apple product, thats like 2 32gb sd cards that will cost £40 each

apple keep milking people by going from 16 to 32 to 62 rather than just doing a 500gb one and leaving it there for a while

i hate apple

Is there a difference between the 32 and 64GB versions other then capacity (obviously)? No. So effectively that poster was right, you are paying a premium for the extra space.

What a ridiculous quote. How can you compare an SD card to a touch screen media device?? I don't think apple are trying to entice anyone with more memory anymore, they try to entice you with how brilliant and responsive thier touch screen is and what the touch is capable of doing for what is quite frankly a bargain price.

Have you seen how thin the ipod touch is, how exactly would go about cramming in 500gb?? 500gb would be more than most laptops have. Who has enough music to fill a 500gb MP3 player anyway... that would be like 10,000 albums or something like £100,000 of music!

I don't own anything by Apple, but i'm bored of people moaning about them. They are like any other company in the world, they want to make money from thier quality products. If you don't like thier products... who cares?

Agreed £80 extra for memory that would cost half that is quite a premium.

Whilst I agree with most of what you have to say, you can't defend Apple for lack of an expansion slot on their products.

I'm not a "hater" by the way, I'm looking to purchase one of the new touch models.

I think you are actually missing the point. He wasnt saying that there isnt a difference between the capacity, he was saying that just an SD card isnt exactly the same as all the functionality of an ipod touch just because it has the equivalent hard drive. It might help to read the comment properly and see what is being debated before replying. Though you are right in what you are saying about space being the only premium you are paying for, that was not what was brought up in question by the previous poster's arguement.
