Apple just release their new imac range with Quad-Core Intel Core i5 processors (2.5GHz or higher), AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 512MB (or higher), 1920 x 1080 resolution (or higher) and you can get this imac for 879.60 using the Apple Education discount.

You need to access the education store via a university or college internet connection, select Apple Education discount link (somewhere at the bottom of the apple store page, click on start shopping, select your university (prefered choice as this gives better discount) and that's it. You see the discounted price reflected in the products.

I guess you can probably get quidco or smnthg for cash back (not sure).

Not an Apple hater (or a lover for that fact) but not exactly a deal as its only available to those who can access the Education Discount, therefore majority of people on here are probable excluded.

Of course this is a deal, there are a lot of students out there who would like this deal, you wouldnt say that if it was a deal for a bra yet that excludes half the population, unless you're a cross dresser!

Its not a deal, its standard education pricing.

Also, anyone can use this, as long as they find an edu store link. Google is your friend.

are these in stock anywhere else?

TBH, this is the RRP everywhere, unless Apple annouced some sort of real discount its just a standard deal.

Nonetheless good deal for updated spec, wonder if we'll get i3 for the mac mini this time. ;P

Why doesn't this have touchscreen? That's the future (and Apple have led the way in the past with with iPhone then the iPad).

Touchscreens on monitors are a pain to use, that's why.

Because there's nothing to gain on a desktop other than fingerprints. Touchscreen adds to phones and tablets of course, but is utterly pointless on proper computer.

Just don't click accept on any of their software what ever you do.

Why would you want to hold your hand up constantly with your wrist at 90* angle?

Some people just dont think.

Ideal for wearers of headwands...

Please amend the title to show that this is the Educational price in case it offends Apple acolytes who might be offended by the idea of an iMac available at under a grand for ‘normal’ people.
Steve Jobs learnt a lot from L Ron Hoover (one for the Zappa fans).

Also, I dont understand the hate towards iMacs. Considering the quality of the screen you get with it, as well as it being the most capable all in one out there, its also awesome value.

Hell, you can even sell the magic mouse and keyboard and shave 80 quid or so off the price.

I imagine some people voted cold because it’s the Educational price which isn’t stated in the title, so the deal is cold not the product.
