EXPIRY UPDATE: 15% discount for use in conjunction with Quidco/Topcashback has been removed so deal has expired at these prices. The voucher code now seems to be for 5% orders discount and 8% cashback as per the previous discount. the previous deal has been unexpired. Go to:-

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/apple-ipad-wi-fi-16gb-for-399-41-37/808480
-------------------------
One of last weeks hottest deals (2347°) has been improved with further £40-£70 savings. Good for some, bad for others including me who ordered last week!

Due to last weeks over 2437° degree deal stock is in and out, but if out orders go on backorder and with the previous deal this has added only a few days to delivery times.

Viking Direct are already selling each iPad already £8 to £14 cheaper than Apple, Comet, Currys and PC World - this is dependant on which model you choose.

and Also....

Viking Direct are offering 8% cashback on purchases through quidco or topcashback, and a voucher code can be used in conjunction with this for an additional 15% off any iPad!!!

Thus effective prices are:-

£328.74 Apple iPad 16GB Wi-Fi - Saving up to £100.26
£382.37 Apple iPad 32GB Wi-Fi - Saving up to £116.63
£459.00 Apple iPad 64GB Wi-Fi - Saving up to £140.00
£405.36 Apple iPad 16GB Wi-Fi + 3G - Saving up to £123.64
£459.00 Apple iPad 32GB Wi-Fi + 3G - Saving up to £140.00
£525.62 Apple iPad 64GB Wi-Fi + 3G - Saving up to £163.38

All other retailers such as Comet, Currys, PC World only offer 3% cashback through Quidco and all voucher codes can not be used against iPad's with any of them!

NOTE: 15% discount code is not applied in the checkout, you add it as a note and they apply the discount when they take the monies on shipping it out. Code is listed on Quidco and TopCashBack pages so approved for using with them.

More info in the table below

Free biscuits as well just to sweeten things up a bit catalogue # Q2D-PRBSBB

New customers to viking also seem to receive a £10 off a £50 spend voucher for another purchase with Viking which arrived with my welcome letter on my first order (for the iPad) that voucher expires Dec 19th I think

I just can't get over the 2347° deal being beaten. Glad for people who didnt jump at it and can now get it cheaper still. Even I am at a loss for it, and was begrudged posting this deal. Could barely believe my eyes, I thought last weeks deal might have been extended at best or just expired. I thought viking would have been at a loss and the ipads got pulled from their site last week but they didnt! So even now I am leaning towards the fact them (viking) or other are now shifting stock for something new early next year.

Hot because price but I think its still to much.

You should change to price to without cashback because its not 100%.
#8
wait for v.2.0

tempted but 2 things stopping me:

1:) mum would kill me for spending so much, not got a job at the moment;

2:) planning on aiting for the ipad2 to see what that's like, if it's not a big leap over the original then will get the original for cheap(if they're still around).
#10
I am sooooo tempted, going to wait for V2 though
#11
I'm using my iPad now. I can't recommend them enough.

Version 2 I don't think will be realised till September next year. That's a long wait. They will start to update the iPods and iPads at the same time pre holiday season.

Ipad 2 announcement in January is the rumour. They want to get a new model out to beat the upcoming tablet competition.

Can't believe people are saying £328 is too much, nothing touches it at this price.

ipad 2 - with all the features ipad should have featured in the first place.
#24
dont you need to add VAT to these prices???
#25
badger, the prices quoted on viking are the VAT exc. cost. So add vat then take off the 15% discount. This 15% actually makes it a VAT free deal in effect so these prices on the viking website are pretty much exactly what you'll pay less any cashbacks you get. dont forget nectar points too.
good deal

Its unlikely V2 will be a big leap over these if you look at how the iphones are relaesed with ever so slightly better functionality each time. I am sure it will be the same for these.

I doubt you'll be able to get the site tracked for nectar AND the cashback sites (TCB/QuidCo) - it's going to one tracked cookie only, surely? Otherwise I'd get 8% from TCB, 8% from QuidCo + Nectar Points - it'd be a super duper bargain then!

Anyway, HSH OP.

Front facing camera will add a whole new use for these things. I am pretty sure they will add the camera so I would say it is worth the wait for that alone. Maybe they will add some kind of e-ink/LCD hybrid display for better ebook reading (this is just wild speculation but might even temp me, as a non apple lover, to get one). I did vote hot, though. You won't find them cheaper at the moment.

You won't get tracked for nectar points but you don't need to.. you add your nectar account number inside your viking direct account and it goes through and shows up on your nectar account. not sure if you get any double/triple point offers, probably not as they are usually estore specific, but you do get them for every order you make with no worry about getting tracked so you can get your quidco etc

I remember reading something on Engadget that the prices will be getting lower.

I think this was in relation to the 3G models, being about £200 as part of a contract with orange/vodafone. But as a contact they are a rip off.

Viking are a country mile cheaper than everywhere else.
#32
Those prices make them on par with how much they are in $ in the USA, at todays exchange rate the $825 64Gb 3G + WiFi works out at £534. Excellent deal but i cant help but think this is the beginning of retailers starting to discount and shift stock in the wake of the expected iPad 2 announcement in Jan. I'm so tempted but i'm aiming to pickup a iPad 2 next May from the states.
#33
Ahh so tempted. I think my missus would kill me though.
#34
Nice spot......I ordered one last week and forgot to add the code!! So i have just ordered this and made sure i used the code and will send the other one back!

Cheers OP

Heated and bookmarked, are there any tablets which rival the ipad in performance and usability using Android 2.2 (or upgradable to 2.2) for around the £200 mark? The Galaxy tab is ridiculously overpriced IMO
#36
I don't know what to do as allegedly got a Vega (ordered when in stock then told it's now on back order), but like the idea that the Vega is open source and hackable and plays all sorts of files (which is what I wouuld use if for). On the other hand this is better build quality.

The Vega is the oly one at the moment IMHO, better CPU but build quality not as good but it't only £240 with discount then minus quidco...
#38
tempting~I'll kill for this.

where do you enter the voucher code? have put one in basket and continued to checkout now asking for card number but would prefer to enter code first!!!

In the additional information / voucher code box, I think it's on the same page as you put your card details on. As mentioned in the deal post the discount is applied after the order and not on your screen during checkout
