I'd probably prefer a flatter/stiffer sole for weight-lifting, these will be more flexible and probably more suitable for cardio training in the gym - saying that if they work for you then they work :)

They're are actually flatter than they look, similar to lifting with chuck taylors or barefoot and are good for cardio stuff and rope climbs etc, but like you say not stiff soled as some prefer or like powerlifting shoes.

I use these for squats and deadlifts, they are great. Also the minimal sole is good for improving your ankle strength when running (takes a little bit of time for your legs to adjust)

Like people are saying, it's usually better to have a completely flat sole/surface (Converse/Vans) when performing compound movements such as the squat or deadlift.

This is to help reduce imbalances during the lift, which allows you to generate force from the correct places.
However, like OP said they're flatter in person so they should be good.

high heels are best for deadlifts, get on my level... which is about 8 inches higher than you with your flats
