Good price for a basic, entry level laptop... after a lull that listed almost a week, finally a laptop deal...

its refurbished and tbh i would rather pay the extra £11 for a brand new unit and better spec.

Seems an ok deal, thinking about going for this, having had my fingers burnt on a refurb laptop recently.
Hoping for a few more comments about this machine to make my mind up.

Excellent, just what the doctor ordered!

Hot from me, I bought one of these for £239 from Tesco in their VAT-free deal earlier in the year. Good budget laptop if you don't want to play games - fast processor, decent screen and keyboard, quiet fan, battery life usually 3-3.5 hours. Case looks a bit plain as its not a shiny 'piano' finish, although it doesn't collect fingerprints. Overall build quality is ok for the price. Keyboard layout is rather annoying with the function keys down the left hand side (as with most HP/Compaqs) - takes a while to get used to not pressing these instead of caps-lock, ctrl, etc. Also, doesn't have a card reader or HDMI.

Just ordered one, looks like the best deal around for NEW. On Curry's website the same laptop is £289.99 and that's Refurb.

Right..... I'm gonna have a punt on this i think.
Heat added.

AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH

I dont believe it...... they've sent me this laptop in the 2gb ram and the 250gb HD spec.
NOT the 3gb ram and the 320gb HD spec that it should have been.
#12
Same here.... Yet more hassle to get this resolved.

The machine sent is the 107SA as in the ebay listing title, but the listing body
describes a different machine !!!.
#13
Well they offered me a HP G56-107sa, which would be the same spec (3gb ram 320gb HD) as this deal originally was listed at. Or £25 refund if i kept this lesser spec machine, which they then offered to up to £35.
If i take the HP laptop, i have to wait in for another day for this Compaq laptop to be picked up, then wait in yet another day later in the week for the exchange HP laptop to be delivered. This would be three days of waiting in for couriers.
Bunch of f****** incompetent timewasters...... I told them to give me my money back and i'll buy another laptop off a company i can trust.

Bloody keyboard was getting on my nerves anyway, with these extra keys on the left that you keep hitting instead of shift.
