NCGFC: We love great-tasting soup, which is why we make it fresh every day. We start with a headful of ideas and a chopping board piled high with ingredients we chop, blend, season and simmer until our soup tastes as fresh as our ideas.

Yep, I think they're vastly overated too. The Chicken soup I tried was just plain horrible. Would have sent a letter of complaint if I had't thrown away the lid with the batch code.

I have noticed the carrot and corriander one seems to be dried corriander? Doesn't taste quite right, compared to making your own.

all chicken soup is disgusting imo! NCG do loads of other great flavours tho, but they've always come in cartons that don't have lids so are you sure you've got the right brand?

Yeah, I only recently bought some due to the raving. The Winter Vegetable variety was just like a tasteless broth.

But they can at least use fresh corriander, its supposed to be a fresh soup!

I loved the pumpkin soup but they don't seem to do it anymore for some reason.

Is that not one of their seasonal specials? Although it's perfect pumpkin season I assume they feel tied to the Halloween market.

Look at the ingredients of the chicken soup before you buy. Chicken fat and salt! leave this garbage on the shelf.

Yeah I thought so too, I was on the lookout for it this year as last year they were on offer after halloween. I'm not sure I've bought better soup. Their new one in the purple packaging is wonderful hot and cold. mmmm.

Asda and Tesco always have a few of these on offer for a quid so it depends on your taste and the selection at your local Sainsbury's as to whether this is so wonderful. I can only speak for the vegetarian soups but I these soups are gorgeous. Except the summer veg blend which is mank and the leek and potato one smells awful (but tastes nice) if anyone is interested.

Yummy stuff (on the whole)
made in peterborough (edge of the fens) so I anticipate a large degree of the indiginous veg will be fairly local
knocking down the overall food miles (if you are interested in that sort of thing)

freezes well, so i'll be topping up the freezer!
Nice way of getting somewhere close to 5 portions of veg per day.

They used to have a flavour similar to scotch broth a year or so back, but no longer it seems. Pity.

It was limited seasonal edition.

I buy these whenever they're on offer.. carrot and corriander and the vegetable one are very nice.

Anyone who lives within reasonable striking distance of the coast could perhaps cut out the middleman...

Also £1 in Morrisons

Excellent compared to other chilled soups (not reasonable to compare with home made). Regularly reduced to this price at all the big chains.
