The Tom and Basil is tremendous. Until a 22 month-old puts his foot in it... :-)

I didn't like it that much, it reminded me too much of tinned chopped tomatoes to be honest..:?

But then again I am a bit of a philistine who thinks that a tin of Heinz with a bit of worcestershire sauce in is haute cuisine...:-D:whistling:

You're right about the NCG tomato

Heinz tomato with Tabasco sauce - now you're talking ! :-D

Some great soups, great price sadly too much salt for my liking ;- (

Great soups! I disagree with the salt... the Minestrone one I had was just right, but I guess that everyone has their own salt tolerance levels ;)

Rarely on half price, and rarely on offer for so long! Must be the 2nd week now, makes me think it might end by next Tuesday :p

Going to give the soup of the month a try. Mmmmmm Balti! Either going to be rank or friggin' lush.

Why can't they just let you add your own amount of salt...

I used to add enough to chicken soup that it made my lips sting... they don't anymore as they are like rhino hide now. I can occasionaly feel them... Also, I only recently started eating soup without bread. The thought of eating it OFF A SPOON(?!?) was hell to me. Sorry, not sure why I'm relating soup-based life experiences here... hot deal, I love mushroom soup .

Some of them aren't too bad with the salt... I tend to buy the ones with all green traffic lights or maybe allow the odd amber on the top.
Had got back to put this on here and seen this. I bought 2 weeks supply as its easy make you can just put the carton in the microwave. Cheaper than buying sandwiches in work and gotta be healthier than the canteen food! Surely?

The morrisons fresh soup are really nice too between £1 and £1.25 for a pint the chicken and sweetcorn is yunny and only around 200 cals for the whole pot
#17
Our Morrisons has the half size cartons (suggested serving) of the Covent Garden Soups, but they've never got prices on them so not sure if its worth it.

Get some whilst it's cheap freezes well!
..great deal, HEAT!
These with some nice bread are a be-ootiful meal!
(made close to me in peterborough so low food miles)

Am I the only one that finds microwaving soups destroys some of the flavour?

They probably travel 300 miles away to be packaged up, then another 200 miles to be boxed up, then another 100 miles to sent to the tesco distribution centre when they then travel another 50 miles to the tesco store where you bought them.

Much better than any of that tinned rubbish....... heat added.

Nope, I find that with most food. Not sure of the science behind it, just that Saucepan = tastes nicer.

The winter veg one is nice too, but looks like so much like vomit it is best eaten with eyes closed!! :w00t:

i doubt that... well check on the box anyways... as long as, its less than 0.6 gram of salt for a 100 gram serving, it should be fine!!!
