Don't know if this new Dell Dimension has the same cooling and ultra quiet operation as the old Dell 520 - I think it will but there aren't any reviews yet.

Does anyone know - MikeT ?

Just seems to be a different design on the outside but the same spec and £100 more than the E520 of a few weeks ago.

I am not sure why this has been posted. It is certainly not a good deal compared to the old model.

Some pics of the Inspiron 530 here, but no mention of how quiet it is, but does say the ATX case isn't as good as the older BTX case.

Does seem to have built in bluetooth though.

Also the new slimline Inspiron 531(?) should be out soon to replace the C521.

Lets hope it is more realistically priced than the 530.

New case certainely dosen't look as well ventilated at front, on seeing these being released I have just ordered a E521 from one of MikeT's recommendations http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?&p=648467#post648467 a bit more that this but faster processor more storage and 20" monitor

only thing I notice different is the case and faster ram. Otherwise it's the same as the deal mentioned in the post above this but more expensive.

Repriced today by dell to £438.99 gulp!

ATX cases have obviously been brought in because of the failure of BTX layout to take off. The Dell BTX motherboards make for incredibly quiet PCs which is fab, but you can't install dual height graphics cards. Since most of the newer and powerful cards that you need, particularly for DirectX 10 games, are dual height it makes Dell a bit of a pain.
I assume they've had to bow to the inevitable and sacrifice quietness for market compatability, which is a shame because I love my Dimension 5150 (even if I can't stick an 8800GTX in it).

p.s. MikeT - is the Dell 305 code in the first part an introducer code unique to yourself? I never use it, because any old letter will do, but if it is I would be happy to do so if you will get a cut of the sale price.

Shock horror! wadya mean you dont use it:w00t: I spend all that time typing it in and you dont use it biglugs:viking:

No, your quite safe to put whatever you like in there, I always just hit any key. The codebox is there for dell to monitor where the lead came from with different codes meaning newspaper, dell flyer, web advert etc. I started puting 305 in there a very long time ago and its just stuck, I have no idea what if anything it means to dell marketing.
I really wish I did get a % off the dell deals, life would be sweet :p

what is the difference between Core and Viiv Core 2?

just got one of my two today and the fan is more noticeable than the old Dimension :-(
Overall the new PC and Vista Premium is excellent though :-)
