Agree - £569.05 before Quidco seems very good price if this spec is what you want....

Shame no blu-ray :(
#5
blu-ray is a "bag of hurt" remember!
good spec... 3.1kg is not bad for this size
but DO NOT underestimate the non-portability of these devices. battery life will be lame.
best suited as desktop replacement

+1, think I would have gone for it if it had. Nice screen.

P.S. Don't forget free Windows 7 upgrade ;)

How do you see its basic spec so that you can tell how many USB ports and stuff it has?

EDIT...It's Ok I found it!

NO FIREWIRE!

Three year extended warranty only £40...that's good.
#12
Though you can of course add Blu-ray for £100, and a better battery for £50.
#13
no hdmi, have dell gone totally bonkers?

it does not say 'Windows 7 Upgrade Eligible' like other models eg studio
how can confirm if it really get the free upgrade?
#15
If you want HDMI, pick the Studio 15 laptops.

I agree I think, if I can understand what you are trying to say. I think you need to adjust your nationality settings on your spellcheck as it is all looking rather corrupt!;-)

I've been "lugging" a 17" notebook (Dell Inspiron 9300) around the world since 2005 which has now been replaced with a Gateway 6860FX - it's not a hardship whatsoever.

One point though, which is worth mentioning, is that it's not really practical for use on board a plane due to the overall size.

17" notebooks are very portable desktop replacements :-D

All Studio 17's have HDMI outputs

All Studio 17's have HDMI outputs

it's not listed in the spec, only mentions VGA
#22
The studio 17s have firewire, vga, hdmi, 4USB...all in all a much better spec BUT the deals aren't as good!

Hi there. I'm sure someone posted a deal for a bag for this laptop. Can't find it. Anyone bought one?

By the way, I'm really liking the keyboard.
