Looks like the 1400/1500 are discontinued, they are still on the site but you are not able to buy them...

nice spot

Not like you to omit the price from the title :whistling:

Tut tut, Mike.

Nice to see the option on both new models to have a single stick of RAM at 2Mb at no extra cost....may be a misprice.

What is the point of that - which is better?

If you upgrade from the 4 to the 6 cell battery it comes to £558 (£534 with Quidco).

The lower spec 1310 seems good value if you want a cheap small and light laptop with 1 year on-site warranty - £417 (£399 with Quidco).
You save £141 (£135 with Quidco) and the difference is:

CPU - 2.1 v 1.8 GHz
HDD – 320 v 160 GB
RAM – 2 v 1 GB
VGA – Nvidia 128 v Intel integrated
TFT – Truelife v Anti-glare

I’d happily go for the lower spec and upgrade the RAM for about £15 and save £120.
I have an XPS 1330 on order from the Outlet for £440 otherwise I might be tempted.

Mike, I think your love for Dell has crossed a dangerous threshold when you start linking to reviews of power supply upgrades. :w00t: :-D

Bit of a disappoint that they downgraded the 2mp to 1.3mp camera on the new model laptop charging same price £20

Can anyone tell me whats the difference between a Dell Inspiron & Vostro Laptop?

I ask as it seems as though u can pick up a Vostro for a lot less than a Inspiron with similar specs, even the Inspirons on the outlet store.

The Inspirons are more plasticy from my experience and a bit more flashy. The Vostros are more staid in appearance but reportedly more solidly built. The Vostros come with an on-site warranty as opposed to the standard return to base so if you can live with the looks go for the Vostro.

Just had a look at this and watched (well listened) to his video, how depressing is his voice? It was painful to endure him just read out a list of specs that he had already gone through, nice try though.
