Currently £50 off the normal £149.99 until 23rd March with free delivery.
Lots of money off coupons for even less or 6% Quidco.

Can be used as a multi satellite system or as a Free To Air receiver similar to FreeSat.
Excellent sound and video quality with regular software updates.
USB Recording to Memory Stick/HDD
I have had one of these for over a year and would highly recommend.

Q- As you can record with a external hard drive, does this mean you pause and rewind live TV pictures? Allan - Allan
Answer- No sorry this product does not support that.

Q- I have just recently stopped my sky TV subscription, I have a normal box ( not HD ) if I bought the passion Hd freesat box would I have to upgrade the dish or do anything else to it Thank you - Robert Lowe
Answer- No, this would connect to your existing dish.

Q- Is the freesat transmission via the same satellite as sky - peter
Answer- yes that is correct

Q- will I be able to use this in Dublin. ? - Donald
Answer- Yes the product does support that.

Q- I have bought this equipment and installed it. I can receive the BBC HD channel but don't seem to be able to find the ITV HD service. - OrwellJohn
Answer- the unit requires an update be installed to be able to view ITVHD (as a seperate channel rather than as a red button service). This can be obtained via www.fortecstar.com

Q- Can you pause live TV with this unit (when an external hard drive is attached to USB). - John
Answer- Yes the product does support that.

Q- hi, what format does the exteral hard drive need to be in ? NTFS or FAT32 ? thanks - Lloyd
Answer- FAT32 is required for this item.

Q- Does this power a portable HDD powered by USB - Paul
Answer- Unfortunately not. The unit requires the use of a mains powered external hard drive.

Q- Can Passion+ HD unit, record a program whilst playing back an earlier recording - beena
Answer- No sorry this product does not support that.

The Passion+ records to an external USB storage device which you supply.
I use with a 500GB external HDD which I can also plug into my PC to put videos/pictures/MP3s on to it.

The update site.

There will be a REAL Digital update in the near future to get extra services from the SKY satellite.

It receives BBC HD, ITV HD and Luxe HD from 28.2E as well as all the 200+ FTA SD channels.

For around £90 (Quidco / coupons) for a HD PVR Satellite receiver of this quality - it is a steal.

Rob2404 You need to join a satellite forum where you will learn what is needed to receive foreign channels.
I use

But there are lots around.

BillyBits....

I got 1 of these and cant seem to update the firmware.I put it on to usb stick,go to software transfer,it starts receiving, then when it gets to 75% it turns off and the front panel says "file read" but does nothing else.I pull the stick out and it restarts....but still the old firmware.Any idea what I am doing wrong.Cheers in advance.

Fortunately, it does allow the use of portable 2.5" usb drives without external power sources, however the portable drive needs to be ejected (from the Passion's menu rather than physically) when not in use, or it will not spin down when idle.

Maplin's answers are not always correct.
