  That's the ad supported version though. The version with out ads is $89, we only have the ad-free one in the UK.

  Only real problem with the Kindle Fire is that you have to root it to get Google Play - Amazon Marketplace is OK but has quite a lot of gaps...
  
  Nice to see they've finally put it up for sale in the UK - I only sold mine a month ago - gave up waiting! Happy with my Nexus 7 now, even if it's possibly not quite the specs of the Kindle Fire HD!

  Bit annoying, they only supply the usb lead for charging and not a main power supply, which is an extra £6 or so.

  Any cheap mini-usb wall plug works, I think? I'd even go as far as to plugging the cable into an Apple mains plug. (If you have an Apple device that is!)

  The HD was announced this evening, stuff reviewed the Fire that was released in the US ages ago, the MK1. Question is why are we NOT getting the full HD display version?? :(
