Not in my shop they didn't. Had loads of posters on the wall but no phones.
#17
I love this phone now.
#18
I'm assuming this is Pay as you go? (since you need to add credit)

I'll be having a look, would want to know how good it is at texting before I bought!
(predictive text?)
#19
oh my god, this is such a hot looking phone - the white one especially. is it in all phones4u stores?
#20
Not white, they (phones4u) have the exclusive on black and red/wine, so somebody else might pick up the white one.
There is also a blue version I believe.

Starlet can I ask what happens to the "offer available - online, instore or both" selection that is made when posting an offer as it seems to have no bearing on how the offer is displayed.

yes it's PAYG only. Texting is poor, no predictive and the text display for reading/writing sms only shows 7 character - that aspect is very poor - it is purely a phone, pure and simple.
But as some review i have read have said this phone is almost disposible, it's built to be ultra simple and tough - it was initially intended for rural india and mexico only, but Motorola design department got carried away and made it too sexy to limit its release.
#23
can we stop going on about the instore/online issue. I think people are well aware now :)
#24
Can't see this online? :?

This phone is amazing if your a geek like me and into your gadgets:

E-ink display, linux os etc

This phone makes an excellent glove box standby phone if you can get one that matches your network, (my entire family is on orange) simply swap in your sim card and your good to go. Also with the battery life being so good i can reccomend for travellers when combined with a solar abttery charger like a solio.

Other glove box items include disposable camera (for accidents/bumps/scratches), high vis yellow vest, torch and a space blanket... Job Done

This was exactly the kind of thing I was thinking once I had read that this phone has a, potentially, long battery llife due to the screen technology being used.

As for the glove box items list, notepad and pencil for writing what happens in events of car (or other) accident for insurance purposes :)

My wife works for phones4u and she says it's policy to sell all prepay phones with either top up of

a) £10 by debit/credit card
or
b) £20 cash

Can anybody confirm this and please state your region or town of you feel confortable because when I went into rotherham store they would sell it me for £25, they wanted £35 cash

Not sure why you're asking, as that correlates with what your wife has said.

The phone is £15, you have to buy a £10 top up, so £25 in total. If you wan to pay cash then it is a £20 top up, so £35 in total.

Also, Don't forget a petrol sample container (incase your car breaks down due to dodgy petrol at Tescos or Morrisons) and your breakdown recovery member number

Because the store I went to in rotherham is where she works, I need to find out if other regions have different policies.

A simple yes or no would have been adequate. Thanks

If you want the black one, I wouldn't bother going in to town to collect it. Just order it through Quidco, save a Fiver and have it delivered to your door.
#39
whu would u consider of buying such an outdated brick. doesnt even have the very basics e.g. cam, pred text etc.......

if its the battery life, then just buy an extra battery for your phone, would only cost a couple of quid. the key is to keep the extra battery (fully charged) in your glove box!

Phones have moved on. People buy them for something different, it'll cost £20 after Quidco, spend the £10 credit, have a play with it and if you don't like it, flog on ebay for a Tenner.

Phones have become disposable and not just a functional object.
