why would anyone get up that early to go shopping???????
#20
hey i work at next too & i asked about the sale last week, it'll only be a mid-season sale, not a big one like summer/xmas,so lasts for 2 days only, sat-sun, and only 20% of what is in store now will be in the sale! that's not alot. we received a lot of sale items delivered to us, but not been sorted through yet. it won't be autumn clothing, mainly summer leftovers like short sleeves, shorts, dresses, swimwear& then fragrances, cards, homeware, kidswear, shoes.homeware should be good though but only if you get there early otherwise all the good stuff is gone.the staff get to reserve their's the night before so bare that in mind.
#21
The mid season sale is *****! The two sales in the year, Christmas and June are fab, the other one is not worth getting out of bed for.

I work at Next too and can confirm this. I've known about the sale date for over a week now..didn't think people would be so interested when there's still 2 weeks to go :whistling:

Anyway, Next's prices have increased over the last year or so, a top which will now be £8 in the sale, could well have been £6 in the sale in early '08

I had noticed that too! Cunning pricing strategy to get them through the recession me thinks

I think their quality has gone downhill this year. £22 for a tshirt that feels and looks worse quality than a supermarket one and probably a Primark one too (never shopped there though tbh). I've had to return about half of my last order as it was crap.

eta: Thanks for the headsup though.

I agree

I have been a loyal next buyer for years but the last year they have not been as good on quality
#27
I love their things but £100 does not get you very far
#28
Next sale ... AKA 'jumble sale'

Mostly full of previous seasons' leftovers with the occasional bargain if you can be bothered.

Quality has gone downhill too.
#29
I know i didnt say the next sale isnt on as it definitely is, sat 26th-sun 27th 2day sale.but its on midseason so not very big, only 20% of instore items will be in the sale and i bet half the store will still have normal stock full priced, theyll just be a section with sale items.
#30
Dont know why this is voted hot. It is a small sale
#31
All the item in this sale will be the last of the Spring/Summer items, such as sorts, sunglasses, T-shirts, vests, linen or anything from the season.

Yep but if the poster works for Next they will be aware that they are specifically told not to advise of the sale dates in advance whatsoever.
#34
Why do people go crazy over next sales?

They sell rubbish clothes. Its just sheep mentality. Baah.

hmmm. ok. Next time I'll put a thread up on sale day at 5.00am... just for you.

The poster can't care less if Next ask him not to advertise the sale.
#36
The next sale is more overhyped than a JLS album. Secret VIP codes, 6am openings, 4am queues all for what? A table runner, some dodgy three quarters and a white short sleeved shirt....have a word.

Are you after promotion ? I guess word of mouth is not the best form of advertisment, do you think a £30k advert 2 days before is a more cunning plan ?

It`s not like we can get to the deals before hand or have I simply missed the point on this.
#38
nice!

For those who work for Next please try the following tip - put the bloomin' suit trousers with the corresponding jackets...

This forever frustrates the hell out of me as you can never find a complete suit - oh, and don't sell any trousers on their own. If people want to buy one jacket and two trousers then fair enough for wear and tear - but don't let people just buy trousers - it's not like you can wear the jacket on it's own without looking very 'special'.

I am also waiting for things thqt I ordered in the summer sale. Only received 3 items from an order of around 20 items. They say that this is usual, but I have been a customer of Next for over 10 years, and have never had any problems in the past. I also had a VIP slot, so ordered well before the sale started.
