Really good price, just shame this is an S40 rather than S60 phone, so it won't run Tom Tom, otherwise it'd be perfect.

Why not get it on a 'free' via cashback deal:-

Because as the ongoing existance of PAYG and SIM free options show, many people don't want/like contracts for whatever reason.

Frankly I find cash backs slightly ridiculous. I know they generally work, but I'd rather keep my money in the bank and take a lower rate contract that relects my useage.

I got this phone purely because it was series 40, I hate 60 with a passion, no denying its capabilties but I hate using it with its bugs and slow speed.

bugs and slow speed

Tend to agree, my mates original N93 was a nightmare, but it's replacement was absolutely fine - so not 100% it's purely the system. I'm after a 5500 and they seem to fair pretty well, despite running the same v3 S60. Plus there are a few tips on the web about how to speed up all these phones.
#8
anyone know if these are unlocked???
#9
I just rang o2 and the phones are locked. They also have a £30 trade in allowance on this phone making the phone £99.99
#10
Can the 6300 be unlocked - I am having trouble finding anyone who does?
#11
i phoned a few o2 stores, and they only offer £20 trade in with this phone.
#12
above info is correct, £20 is the trade in value, not the £30 mentioned earlier and the prepay handsets are locked onto o2
