If you are buying a new computer from PC world this month, keep your eyes open for the Spring edition of their instore magazine (normally kept at the front of the store). It has the new prices for sping which haven't been introduced yet!

I bought a COMPAQ C504EA Laptop - INTEL CELERON M 430 PROCESSOR 1.73GHZ LAPTOP with Vista Home Premium pre-installed for £449.99.

The instore price was suppose to be £499.99 but when I showed the sales assistant the magazine, I got the new price and save £50.

perfectly fine for the cheap compaq laptops. I have a C300 and the Celeron chip behaves very nicely too. I have an AMD64 2.6ghz desktop which sucks.

grubbymitts, why does the AMD64 desktop PC suck? Are you playing games or doing video encoding?

Just trying to find out before I upgrade!

but surely you'll be upgrading to at least a AMD dual core 3800.they are only about £75-£80 for the retail pack...no doubt you'll require a mobo amf ram but upgrades come at quite a reasonable cost if you know where to shop.

sorry if this has not got any relevance to the above but ive just been into pc world to buy an ipod shuffle and they advised me if I took out there 3 year warranty they have a special deal on at the moment where they send you £250 in pc world gift vouchers. I signed up and was told my vouchers would be sent to my home address in 4 working days. If this is true its sounds like a pretty good deal to me considering I only spend £75 in there

5 x £50 Vouchers that cannot be spent at the same time and minimum purchase must be over £300-00 per voucher
Remember this last year with PC World.
Have you read the Terms and Conditions that came with the offer.

No, i forgot to ask to see them. I asked if they were gift vouchers that they sent and the bloke instore said yes, guess they were lying then.
