been waiting for this to go down in price for a long time.

finally under £23

Developed by Rockstar San Diego, as a follow up to the 2004 hit game, Red Dead Revolver, Red Dead Redemption for PlayStation 3 is a Western epic, set at the turn of the 20th century when the lawless and chaotic badlands began to give way to the expanding reach of government and the spread of the Industrial Age. The story of former outlaw, John Marston, Red Dead Redemption on PS3 takes players on a great adventure across the American frontier.

Utilizing Rockstar's proprietary Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE), Red Dead Redemption for PLayStation 3 features an open-world environment for players to explore, including frontier towns, rolling prairies teeming with wildlife, and perilous mountain passes - each packed with an endless flow of varied distractions. Along the way, players will experience the heat of gunfights and battles, meet a host of unique characters, struggle against the harshness of one of the world's last remaining wildernesses, and ultimately pick their own precarious path through an epic story about the death of the Wild West and the gunslingers that inhabited it.

I spent all that time adding the URL and comments about the GAME website also selling the game at £24.99, then i read about the gameplay offer in the same post... Typical.

However, i ordered from gameplay, so cheers. Heat Added

I really want this game but got so many other ones I haven't played so I think I might wait til christmas and hopefully will be able to get it for sub £20 by then.

Great price though.
#9
Good price, I'll hold off until the magic £17.99 price like I do with all games in the 'I want to play but not in a hurry to do so' category. Heat added.

always surprises me the amount of people that actually 'wait' for prices to come down, I would never wait for price drop on a game I wanted

Ive got an idea, buy the game like I did for £28, play the SP and then sell it, like I did for £31 after fee's

so essentially I got paid £3 to play 60 hours of RDR

Different strokes for different folkes, if you want to go out and throw your dosh around because you have no patience then kudos to you, I like (many others) to wait until they fall below twenty quid I have all the games I ever wanted and a **** load more to boot.

This is a great price (esp with the DLC) but this game has been out long enough now to go budget so I suspect it will fall even further in price over the next few weeks as stock is cleared.

Come on Heavy Rain.

showing as back in stock
#18
Yeah, good find, by me in this thread, no credit for it :( how rude!
#19
Am I right in seeing that the DLC is not included with the XBox? :(

Seems to be only with PS3, which is out of stock.
#20
awesome, just bought for xbox!

I can see the point in waiting for prices to fall from e.g. £35 to £23, but from £23 to under £20 isn't worth waiting for. I mean, its £3, the price of a coffee, a few litres of petrol, a mcdonalds breakfast meal....

Since I was the one with the "won't buy til under £20" comment, it wasn't so much the £3.
Apart from Modnation racers which I got yesterday for £16 from ebay, all my other games have been max. £13, and as I mentioned before I have around 7 games that I have to finish so I'm not really in a rush to get RDR. I'd probably pay £23 if that's the price it costs around christmas purely cause it's just a must have game for me as I totally love GTA4, but I see no point in getting it right now.

As far as I can see the extra content that comes with this is NOT the DLC. It is merely just extras that certain suppliers got. The actual DLC is going to be released on disc seperately sometime in the future, alternatively you can still download it at cost. That applies to both Xbox and PS3.

But still an amazing game and well worth the money!

"finally under £23"
This bit made me chuckle!
#31
R* have anonunced they are releasing a "Complete" edition (along with GTA 4) which includes all the paid for DLC so I would say that this title may drop to £15 before Xmas.

Is this why games don't have cheats any more? So they can give you them disguised as DLC bonuses as an inducement to buy? A faster horse and extra dead eye meter surely only detracts from the experience as the game is easy enough as it is
#36
I got this yesterday off a mate for a tenner, it's a bit boring having to ride from here to there, then there to elsewhere which takes ages. Not for me.

how am I throwing my dosh around when im playing through the entire game and making a profit, whereas you are waiting around like a billy for the price to come down and then you buy it for £17/18? arent you throwing your dosh around?

buying the game, and then selling it on making a small profit is a better system to have, and if you want to play it again in a year 2 years time, then it will be about a £10

I've got a gaming backlog problem so that's my main reason for waiting for the £17.99 or less price. I do buy most of my games on release day but not being a western fan I made the decision to wait for this one to drop before I add it to the pile.

If you were to buy it for £17/£18 you would most likely sell it for a £3+ profit as well so there is little difference BUT don't forget not all games depreciate at the same rate. For example this game is very good (as most R* games are) and as a result retains it's value in the 2nd hand market for a long time but then compare it to a game like Splinter Cell: Conviction which has been posted as a deal today for only £8.99 (+quidco), both good games & released within weeks of each other but one is still £14 more. So if you bought SC:C for £31 you wouldn't have been in the same situation as you were in so that is why people wait for the price to drop sub £18.

Also no real need for childish name calling either.
