New PS3 PS+ Content (6th June Update) £40.00 @ Playstation
At 40 quid a year PS+ wasn't bad to begin with, what with games like NFS Shift 2, the original Max Payne, Trine 2, Awesomenauts, etc being given away free in recent months.
But following E3, PS+ just got a whole lot better. For PS3 anyway.
From tomorrow 10 full games will be available to download (with 3 changing each month).
The list is:
Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown (Brand New Release)
And:
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine
Chime Super Deluxe
Darksiders
Renegade Ops
Outland
Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD
The next 3 will be available to download throughout the year.
Infamous 2
Motorstorm Apocalypse
Little Big Planet 2
I know some will be annoyed at having purchased them, but seems a great deal to me.
For all of the idiots who can't read:
NO, IF YOU CANCEL YOUR PS+ SUBSCRIPTION OR IT RUNS OUT, YOU DON'T GET TO KEEP ANY OF THE FREE GAMES.
ANY FREE GAMES ARE ONLY AVAILABLE FOR AS LONG AS YOU ARE A PS+ SUBSCRIBER.
- Winspiration
So there not free then! You rent them.

Wow, there are still zealous fanboys trolling around in 2012?
N64 > PS1, so there.
Fanboy-ism in only the second comment :(

1. Buy PS+ sub
2. Get free games
3. If sub runs out, you can't play the games
4. Re-subscribe and you get access to all previously downloaded games
5. Buy a game with a PS+ discount and you keep the game forever, even if sub runs out
For £40/year, less if you purchase PSN cards, it's a cracking deal.

Jump to unread Post a CommentYes, I know they aren't mine to keep forever, but if Sony keeps adding quality freebies, I'm unlikey to let my subscription lapse anytime soon.
Also are the games listed actually free or are they just free until your Plus sub expires then there not playable anymore ?

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown is a brand new release (ie it's released tomorrow).
Unless the policy changes, they're free until your sub expires, though if you renew at a later date they should be available again.

But this is mind blowing for the same dosh, Sony have the subscription gaming model completely sewn up. I genuinely hope this is rewarded with peoples custom, because in my view it highly deserves it
Sadly not.
Aye, though if you download the game, you will be able to redownload for the life of your subscription, so if things are a bit tight, not every game has to sit on your hard drive
£20 psn cards were selling for £17 or less on the sony store over the weekend. They're out of stock at the moment, but I'm hoping more come in and placed a speculative order yesterday just in case.

...and the Sinclair Spectrum lords over all of them with its cassette-based goodness. (_;)
Let's avoid the fanboy flame-wars and focus on the bargains to be had.

As I said, this is currently out of stock, but would be a steal if they get more in, and they're still accepting orders
