Didn't seem like a bad deal considering the handset sells on PAYG on play.com for £459.99 and the cost of the entire contract is £495 or £460 with cash back.

I have spend hours to compare all top phones last few weeks and thc desire won ( I get one and absolutely Love It!!), but if you like SE...
and why 18 month contract ? it is so long time, better have another new phone after 12 months.

Spend a bit more time looking at the on-screen keyboard next time :-)

Seriously though .. this is a good price for THIS phone. The Desire does appear to be a great phone, shame it looks dull as dishwater. Now if the Desire looked like the Xperia it would appear more to the masses buying the IPhone. The X10 is one sexy looking piece of kit.

I prefer the i8910 Omnia HD, especially with custom firmware, as samsung are useless putting all the best features into 1 firmware

if this is the dolphin £35 value tarrif then you also have to factor in the handset cost of £391 upfront unless the page is playing up for me, so they possibly have changed it?

its either expired or ice cold, shame was interested in a x10 deal to compare against the desire, better is subjective and even if there is a better phone that does not automatically make the other bad ;)

Looks like they put the price up. Handset was free yesterday maybe it was an error...

did you get one? if so what do you think?

to other readers interested in the x10 deialphone have a decent "deal" atm where it works out as 23.22pm over 18months with no handset cost (plus potential quidco), which wont excite the htc lovers here but considering the cost sony want for this handset is pretty decent.

multitouch has been dismissed again by sony which to me sounds like someone needs to be fired for such a mistake.
Aparently tho they will be releasing their own way to easily zoom etc, but that will still leave apps that use multitouch such as onscreen joysticks etc out in the cold :/

well glad i spent some time checking that out now.

There is one company you can blame for that, and that is Apple, you all love your iphones so much, and now you just have to wait for apple to update their archaic device, as most other companies who do not hold similiar patents won't risk being sued for using multitouch. Therefore you won't get these features on decent phones. Just the crappy iphone.. This is why the mobile phone advancement in touch screen, particularly where multitouch is involved has not appeared on many other phones. Apple of course, don't mind using everyone other companies technology
