Gorgeous device. I was intending to buy it but it wasn't available anywhere at a decent price so I opted for a MacBook whilst in the States.

The pictures on the Sony Outlet site don't do it justice. Have a look on Amazon, it's a thing of beauty!......

Tempting, is this Flip or Fit? Or are they the same thing - I can find a 'Fit' series one at that price, just not sure if there's any difference between the models.

Why I always get this?

Unfortunately, VAIO Fit 11A / 13A / 14A / 15A is no longer available at the Sony Store Online.

I bought one of these on release for double the price. I returned it as the fan was really loud, other then that it was a lovely light machine. I couldn't deal with the fan noise though so hopefully they have sorted it out. Do a google search I'm sure you'll come across this common problem.

The problem with the fan noise is mentioned in both of the reviews I posted earlier.

£511 plus 6% Quidco (via Education) and a 2 year warranty, I'll take a chance on a noisy fan that may have a BIOS fix now...or run it on silent
and its just tracked making this a very respectable £487 (for the 128GB...wont be needing more)

Great deal and nice machine - sadly can't justify another laptop - or can I .....
#32
I own the VAIO Duo 13 i7 which is a very similar machine hardware wise . I've had it 8 months now and it really is my pride and joy ...still . I wish these prices had have been available at my time of purchase . The 'noisy' fan doesn't bother me in the slightest , in fact the only time I notice it is when I run Skyrim whilst in bed but invariably I'm using headphones at the same time. I found a laptop cooling fan/knee board essential for operating the machine in bed also as the low air intake vents are easily covered and this will set the fan running hard (I bought a Zalman laptop cooler from Amazon , it's perfect) .
All in all it's truly a super bit of kit . Heat from me

There is a difference between 8.1 and 8.1 pro.....hmmmm.

tough choice

FHD at 13" isn't much use to me (stuff's too small). How does the screen look at 1376 x 768 / 1280 x 800 / 1400x900?
is the fan really noisy all the time, unless you knock it back to quiet mode (max 800MHz CPU)?
It looks like a good deal... Now, do I NEED one or just WANT one....

I have bought a Surface pro which had FHD on a 10inch screen. It looks very crisp.
