On sale at Sainsburys-Kempston (Bedford) at £29-99 plus 25% off (£7-50) with Staff discount brings it down to £22-49

Absolutely fantastic game, great to see Nintendo going back to basics, a solid platform game that will have you tearing your hair out with its precise jumping required, this is no easy Super Mario..it's challenging, just like old skool Nintendo.
#7
Bought this game this morning and its great back to the old school mario games :)
#8
Just bought it for 32.99 at HMV, rest of shops in High St were 34.99.. Thanks for posting!
#9
Seen it in my local Sainsburys for £35, didn't buy it.
#10
yeah didnt mention Staff discount as thats not avalible to all, - Thanks to the GF :-)
#11
It's £29.99 in Doncaster also. I'd guess that it's nationwide with at least three Sainsburys selling it for the same price.
#12
Yes - I've seen this reported over at Grcade, too - labelled at £35, scanned at £30.

Allegedly this is on sale at Tescos for £34.72 or thereabouts but with triple clubcard points. That's about £10.20 worth of points which brings it to a theoretical £25, plus you could probably do all that 'double points for fun days' stuff which I've seen mentioned. This is unconfirmed at the moment but I'll have a look after work.

this game looks amazing, i really want it
#14
Got my copy from Gameplay today, so after Quidco it cost me £28.20, love the red colour case.
#15
Love the DS version of this game. Completed it for the 6th time last night.

i was thinking of buying this for my 4 yr old b ut i am unsure what to do, it might be too difficult for him, apart from that i still own my snes and all the original mario games and i dont want this to be a wast.

your thoughts please.

Thanks for the tip off. Just been to Sainsburys and it scans up at 29.99!

It is difficult, like all old Nintendo titles, basically would be the same as giving the original Super Mario Bros on a SNES to your 4 year old, only possibly slightly harder, it is said to be the hardest in the series so far.

They should have retitled this game actually, its not a remake of the original Super Mario Bros, or is it a rehash of the New Super Mario Bros on the DS, it has the same 3D rendered sideway scrolling of the DS version but all the levels are totally new designs. So it is effectively a brand new title within the old skool Super Mario Bros series.

Buy it for yourself!

It's not a Mario rip off, its an all new game, for those of us that like old skool platformers. Whilst Nintendo are criticised for recycling games, this is a new game in the series of Super Mario Bros. No different really to Microsofts Bungie with Halo sequels, or Sonys Square Enix countless reiterations of Final Fantasy.

As for just in time for Xmas, thats big business for video games, Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo save their big releases for Xmas, it makes good business sense to! Video gaming is big business, they are all about the profits, your cynicism means nothing to them, or to video gamers like myself that just enjoy playing good games.

If you own a wii and your not a casual gamer, you live for titles like this; developed and released specifically by Nintendo. This game is better than 95% of every other single game on the console

it is scanning at £29.99 cos it is a price error on the system, they should get it sorted tomorrow so the price will be the proper price of £34.99.
they aren't allowed to increase the price part way through trading apparently

Having missed the Sainsbury's deal I ended up getting a copy in HMV for £32.99 - best price I could find in town. Hope that helps.
#35
What's the best deal on this either instore or online at the moment, best I can see is £32 at shopto, any better?
#36
I went to Sainsbury's in Leatherhead today and they had a shelf full of Mario Brothers marked with price £29.99. I went to the till and it scanned as £34.99 but of course I got it with paying only £29.99 as the sticker says.

Could this be another pricing error or is there a new campaign for the Mario Brothers.
