New Super Mario Bros. on Wii!
New Super Mario Bros on Wii offers the first multiplayer Super Mario Bros. platform game ever. You can now take on the adventures of Mario with your friends in tow; it will offer a platform Mario experience for all the family to enjoy.
Players can navigate the side-scrolling worlds of Mario alone as before or invite up to three friends to join them at the same time on the same level at any point in the game for competitive and cooperative multiplayer fun. New Super Mario Bros Wii will retain the elements we all know and love but also introduce some fantastic new levels and surprises including quirky new suits, characters and innovative ways to use the Wii remote to guide your character through the adventure.
Playing with 4 players in New Super Mario Bros, does not have to mean working together. In this new multiplayer activity you can either help or hinder your family and friends. You can chuck your friends character at baddies to save yourself or jump on there head to get ahead, you can even use your Yoshi to gobble them up and then spit them out. But its not all about competitive game play you can work alongside your friends and help each other through the levels. Either way this game is guaranteed to bring out some healthy rivalry between friends and families.
Grab your friends and family and get ready for an enthralling multi player adventure in the New Super Mario Bros Wii.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii Features:

* New Super Mario Bros. Wii offers a combination of cooperation and competition. Players can pick each other up to save them from danger or toss them into it.
* Mario, Luigi and two Toads are all playable characters, while many others from the Mushroom Kingdom make appearances throughout the game.
Players can even ride different Yoshi characters and use their tongues to swallow enemies - or their fellow players.
* In some areas, players use the motion abilities of the Wii Remote controller. The first player to reach a seesaw might make it tilt to help his or her character reach a higher platform - and then tilt it incorrectly just to mess with other players.
* New items include the propeller suit, which will shoot players high into the sky with just a shake of the Wii Remote and Mario?new ability to transform into Penguin Mario.
* At the end of each stage during the multiplayer mode, players are ranked based on their score, the coins collected and the number of enemies
defeated.

If this is cold then someone please link to it cheaper.

Might not be cheapest by much but it cheapest I can find.

Only snag is it could take 5 days to be delivered - shopto are about 85p more and if ordered now you might get it tomorrow.

Great deal, who cares if it takes 5 days to deliver as there are still 24 postage days left until Xmas. Some people just dont know a bargain when they see one. I paid £34.99 for this last week on Amazon!
#4
Very tempted by this, can anyone who's got it already offer a recommendation?

I haven't progressed that far yet but It's classic Mario on the Wii (Imagine New Super Mario brothers DS but on a Wii console). However, once you play with another player (or even two or three more) then this is what makes the game so differnet and so much fun.

rip off... this is a dated 2d platformer from 10 years back... just spruced up a little and multiplayer... should be far cheaper.
#9
Any good for 3 siblings age 6-10? They love Mario Bros Brawl (Gamecube version) on wii, but this seems pricey for what it is.

Agreed , its just more of the same tired old forumla , face it Mario you will never be as good as Jet Set Willy . I have this on DS from about 2-3 years ago and its just the exact same game .
Nintendo get away with churning out so much c**p and people just lap it up . Got to give them a lot of credit for that I suppose . Mario Kart on wii is garbage , the one on the DS is so much better .
#11
Harsh words MinerWilly, I disagree. Anyway £31.99 ain't all that, will wait for a better deal.
#12
Should be a 9.99 release, its good but not £31+ good!
#13
i agree with Loopie.

Asking £32 for a wii game (although RELATIVELY it's a good deal) is taking the pee. I know some of the mountains of dross that retail for the wii at the £7 mark but it's a flipping remake of a ladders and levels game and really doesnt deserve £32 or anywhere close!

So true. Off to play Mario World on my Snes

Can't believe I've been playing it since Christmas 1992 (Shockingly it was released in Japan two years before that!).
#18
well my kids love plaing this on the multiplayer think its funny to kill each other etc! i dont think its excatly like the ds version at all! but thats juts my opinion!!

There's some truth in what people are saying in that it really should be about a £19.99 game (its fairly simple but fun). But thats the case with most new games, wait six months and you may see it at a realistic price.

Had there been a level editor within the game and file swapping online it could have been one of the greats but as it is its a side scrolling 2D platformer with fairly chaotic multiplayer levels (great if your competing with each other, not so great if your trying to co-operate).

My ten year old loves it, me I'm not so convinced.

I'd say they'd love it

For every negative comment on here towards the game I bet there are 1000 who are delighted to see a decent side scroller back on current gen consoles.

It's not 'dated' at all it brings the fun back into gaming :-D

Look where Sonic got by changing the formula, some things just work well as side scrollers. Mario has just been clever to be good at both :)

That said considering the Wii is aimed more towards the younger generation the games do appear to be disgustingly overpriced recently compared to PS3/360 games!
#21
It's not dated, it's a really good game but it could have been alot better and should have been. If it had online play and level editor it would be worth the price. If it goes down to £25 it well worth it. It's only £2 more at Asda/Tesco so is £2 really worth waiting a few days for?
#22
Quality game, regardless of what some people are saying. I paid £34.97 from Asda and its worth every penny also great as multiplayer. Classic Nintendo goodness :) Heat and Rep from me!
#23
I got it for £5.99 from Game when it was released (traded in mario party to get £20 off and then 3 other games I never play) and I really like it but then I'm playing it on the DS for the 4th time now :-D.

I get frustrated with it but that's because I never learn and just die at the same point over and over again. Great fun and even though I've played it multiple times on the DS, a lot of the levels aren't the same.

I love it

If there was a level editor and creations could be shared someone would undoubtedly make a p***s themed world , Nintendo would not like this !

I have USB loader and it works fine - just had to select the 2.1 fix or whatever its called in the options when booting. Love how this game is only 300mb - very economic!

We have just done world one and w2 l1 is so hard! I must admitt although I love the snes ones, and this is a total rip of SMB3 the fact you can play coop is fantastic. To the haters out there - so what if its the same as the old ones - why change what aint broke?
#29
Outstanding game which has been getting rave reviews. Who cares if it's old skool 2d? it's the gameplay that counts! Voted HOT!

The fact that it is really popular and that all ages play the game, should then be totally ignored. Of course I should ignore the great gameplay now enhanced with multiplayer and buy a Graphic hungry FPS, because this way I will feel somehow due to the fact the game is based in this year, that I have my moneys worth.

Glad to see this go HOT, shows that gameplay is worth paying for.
