I've just ordered this as it is a decent price for the newly released Terry Pratchett book. I know there may not be many readers here and the DVD deals usually go down better, but here I go, posting an old-fashioned book!!!

Anyway, this is £8.54 from Waterstones when you use the 10% discount code below. You could also get a possible 10% cashback from quidco.com as well!! Cheapest price elsewhere that I can see is about £12.

Promo code: ND2438

Synopsis: It's an offer you can't refuse. Who would not to wish to be the man in charge of Ankh-Morpork's Royal Mint and the bank next door? It's a job for life. But, as former con-man Moist von Lipwig is learning, the life is not necessarily for long. The Chief Cashier is almost certainly a vampire. There's something nameless in the cellar (and the cellar itself is pretty nameless), it turns out that the Royal Mint runs at a loss. A 300 year old wizard is after his girlfriend, he's about to be exposed as a fraud, but the Assassins Guild might get him first. In fact lot of people want him dead Oh. And every day he has to take the Chairman for walkies. Everywhere he looks he's making enemies. What he should be doing is ...Making Money!

Nooo - being the Pratchett fan that I am, I picked it up from Sainsbury's at 12.99... Damn my impatience

I know there may not be many readers here

Where do you get that from? And anyway Pratchett isn't exactly Dostoyevsky...

Well, I've been around these forums a while, and it's a fact that "book" deals do not go down terribly well.

Sometimes those responses of "Why would I read this when I can watch the movie" etc etc... :?

Welcome to HotUKDeals stonehenge8!

Thanks for this. Terry Pratchett is the one of the few authors I actually do make the effort to buy instead of using the library!

Got this on the morning of release (from waterstones), Pratchett is one of the few Writers I get really excited about a new release.

Brick access??

I assume he meant a bricks and mortar store - i.e. not internet.

I really don't like Pratchett's Witches or Glaswegian Imps (don't know what they are really called) books that he has done lately - but I do like his more satirical ones and this is the sequel to "Going Postal" which was great and if anything this new one has had better reviews than Postal.

Still - I can't stand hardbacks so I will have to wait a year :(

... the witches and nac mac feegle are really more kids discworld books, kinda seperate series in effect, and yeah, although the kids series is OK, the main series is so much better, forgot to order this, saw it today in Tesco and snapped it up at £10.

Whats wrong with hardbacks??
They last a lot better than my old paperback version of Light Fantastic, etc.
Favourite characters have to be the City Watch, although I do wish he'd bring back Rincewind.
#20
The city watch are great :) Did anyone see Hogfather on TV? While it wasn't best story to start with, it was a really good adaptation :)
#21
And ordered...

Should mention they have Attenbrough 'Trials of Life' DVD for £5 if you spend £25 and from your other post it seems you can use the same code for 10% off the total. I wish I'd spotted that first. :-(

The 10% discount code above is for anything..... and there are a few £5 off £25 codes floating round too, if that helps :)

What a performance! I cancelled the first order and made another out to include the DVD offer, then found I couldn't use the voucher as well, dropped the DVD as I've seen it going for not much more, then found the voucher had already been activated by the first (cancelled) order and wasn't accepted.

Finally (after checking Amazon prices for my other items) got just the Pratchett book on a new (my wife's) account and placed an Amazon order for the other stuff. Phew.

Will not fit my pocket when I have to take the train to work.

My paperbacks stay in decent condition - but with respect to the author I see this kind of bestseller stuff as read once and pass on (friend, ebay or charity shop).

so obviously, if it's a bestseller, it can't be any good - don't you just love book snobs ;-)

I find a hardback stays open much easier than a paperback when I'm riding my motorbike to work. :whistling:

How about not putting words in my mouth? :-D

If I did not rate it I wouldn't read it, however, I have a decent memory so it is unlikely I will ever want to re-read ephemera like this (with a few rare exceptions) and I certainly don't have a display book shelf or anything - if you are talking up space on my shelf you have to justify it by being an essential.

A bit like when I used to be in to comics. I never felt geek shame for reading them but could never understand how some people keep them perfect and sealed in plastic baggies on a shelf.

Or watching a movie at the cinema and then buying the DVD and watching it all the time. If a film is a true classic or very complex I might watch it twice but that is it.

Mine's the same I've emailed and asked for them.
I'll let you know how it goes.

I suspect any extras are in the Waterstones £35 "Exclusive" edition, I got none.

On Waterstones, do they not send any confirmation emails? I got nothing, unlike Amazon who send both confirmation and delivery notification.

Address given is accurate. :|

Did anyone get the money with this book? I didn't and have asked around some stores and non of them recieved any. If anyone knows where I could get it (not ebay) I'd be really grateful.

I also have the special ed version which I haven't opened as my local waterstones said they opened a few of the special eds and didn't find any of the money in them either so I don't want to open it for nothing when I can just read my normal copy
