Check out this:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?p=314477

It compares favourably with the above (inc I GB RAM) and comes with Vista already onboard - so you can avoid potential upgrade/compatability problems and costs... and who knows - maybe somebody will come up with a promo code for it to reduce the price even more...?

duckbarman, do you think we could get a £100 off that laptop?

That's Core Duo... this one is Core 2 Duo.

Apparently there's a difference, maybe someone more techy minded can enlighten me.
(EDIT: Found this quite easy to understand explanation: http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/8263)

But the RAM is a bit dissappointing for a machine with that spec.

It's also here
http://www.technoworld.com/productdisplay.asp?ProductID=42108

for £546.99 (£446.99 after cashback), but I'm not familiar with the store.

Just to let you know:

The cashback and warranty refund offers are BOTH available from ANY retailer. I checked with Toshiba, as some stores are advertising it and some are not. They said, the offers are through them, not the stores, so they will honour them as long as you meet the requirements here

and

(Though both these links end up at the same registration screen)

Thos looks a really good deal. However I want to ask has anyone used this laptop before, whats they keyboard like? Its just that the laptop I currently have has the most anooying keyboard, very narrow keys which restricts me from using it much and moving to my trusty desktop which is also in need of upgrading :x
