I think they removed too much for the "no monitor" so dont hang around on these 2 base unit deals I posted as I think they may increase in price well before the 27th!

MikeT.

Thanks for the post, quick question, can you put a normal gfx card in these one's or are they half height only?

Cheers
[mod]#4
Fit your choice of graphics solution to this one but be aware there will be no PSU supply for power hungry video cards.

PCIe x16 (Graphics): 1 Slot (full height)

300 Watt DC Power Supply

Would upgrading the grapics to the latest stuff + the psu to the needed 600w, any ideas if you'd then need to rethink the cooling solution inside?

Also

Upgrade HD to 320GB, Windows Vista Ultimate, E6600 CPU - £399 - how awesome :D So tempted!

Looks like they've cottoned on....you can't remove the monitor anymore!
#7

#8

Yup - it's no longer removable
#10
Cant seem to remove the monitor or get anywhere near the price:-(
#11
ruined my day now! Made up my mind then they remove it lol!!!!
had it all ready to go too £199 was absolute bargain for spec
#12
Damn! Would have liked one of these at the price!

I think they paid the marketing team too much though. 'Vostro'
#13
that would have been good!
#14
I ordered one :-)

Will see what happens..
[mod]#15
I did say be quick didnt I.

I do wonder if they watch HUKD or if they are just monitoring order density?
#16
would this have been ok for a media centre?!
#17
Dammit! I was just about to buy one. Now I can't remove the monitor. That was an excellent deal, I upped the cpu and memory to full. Only problem is...

I already have a few SaTAII drives, if this comes back for the cheap price can I get these drives in without putting them down to SATAI??
#18
Got one! Took your advice Mike T and didn't hesitate. 3 or 4 clicks and I was done! Let's see if honoured... (Brilliant spot, and it's not even Thursday!)

They probably just watch you ;-)
#20
Ordered one now for £200, I am a home user so will see what happens, and keep you posted. :-)
#21
ordered one as well. see what happens.

can anyone recommend a decent low-end graphics card for this, silent if possible? Don't use games much, so just something to give a general boost to performance and vision. Thanks.

Right I am going to say this only once (best French accent on)

When I post a deal and warn you that its possibly an error for some reason or another and you think you might like to take advantage of it, please please order one right away!!
You can always cancel later without penalty if you think better of your rash work but its always too late once they spot it.

Ordered yesterday, and still no 'Order Confirmation' email. Did anyone actually got a second email from Dell i.e. 'Order Confirmation' will include your Order Number and Customer Number.

No conf. here either. Let's keep each other informed - anyone had something pulled before because of a misprice? I thought Dell usually honours them, although read a story about a serious misprice by Dell Ireland that they wouldn't budge on. Hopefully 'ours' was relatively small so they'll swallow the loss...
#28
No. as far as i know, if Dell is going to pull it then you won't get a confirmation email. I'm a bit baffled, becos i got confirmation email and even the pdf. Not sure why you guys didn't get them. could it be in your junk mail folder?
#29
Who upgraded parts of the order? I ordered the other one (faster cpu but vista basic) and upgraded a few items, the cpu, the HDD etc. Maybe they let upgraded orders through but the basic ones not.

Just an idea.

Oh damn, I feel an 'issue' coming on. Not in my junk mail folder. Maybe have to call them later today if doesn't arrive?

Possible, I didn't upgrade anything.
#32
Its not on my junk folder and I did not order anything else. I will check my Braclaycard account tonight, see if they have taken the money out. If yes, will give them a call.
#33
Not on my card yet either, but usually doesn't show for a couple of days. I think we should push Dell on this if they try to pull. If someone who has been confirmed could give us the spec and price paid, we might perhaps push for an equivalent at least. And best wait until those who have got confirmation can confirm their item in in production stage (don't want to endanger others' good fortune). Thanks all.

Edit: based on the info from dell when I do a search based on IR number, I think best to wait 72 hours before following up:

"Unfortunately your order has not been found.

Dear Customer,

Unfortunately, we have been unable to identify your order based on the information you have provided. There are a number of potential reasons why your order has not been located.

Either the IR number or email address used was incorrect.

The order has not yet transferred to our order status system.

If you placed your order online within the past 48 hours, please wait and try again in 24 hours time. This will allow time for the order to load into our online status system.

If your order was placed more than 72 hours ago, please click here:

May be we just have to wait :)

Thanks. Good to know. Hopefully just a delay on ours then. They can hardly justify pulling some and letting other thru ... I hope!
#38
It doesn't sound good for those that do not have a pdf confirmation email. What they will no doubt attempt is to ask you to place your order again, of course the deduction for taking of the monitor has now gone.

You really have to order as soon as you see the deal appear, you can then cancel at your leisure. I've cancelled three other deals before this one. Although I've finally settled on this, unless of course they make any more mistakes before mine arrives.
#39
My order went thru and expecting delivery on 31th July, but I have changed my mind going cancel my order today.
