A good deal.
I bought my last car from Dealdrivers. So easy and
saved a mint.
#3
This price is only for red or white, £400 extra for silver, blue, black.
Interior is nothing special and the 3dr version isn't great either.

Yeah but the whole point of this car is its readily available, the waiting times for the higher spec models are stupidly long.

Well perhaps more info in original post would have been useful!
BTW it's Richard Hammond, not Clarkson!

The interior may not be to everyone's taste, but it is constructed of high quality materials.

You may be right, but if I was spending this sort of money, it wouldn't be on a Golf!

1.4 no thanks to slow for motorway driving ...

No bluetooth. Why not fitted as standard? About time it should be standard spec. on all new cars. Stop all those ****'s driving about with their phone's glued to their ears. Make life safer for the rest of us! Fiat can fit is as standard spec. on pretty basic models so why not the likes of VW?

looks good wish i had cash

Good money for what it is but they're a bit bland aren't they.

Would prefer a 1.6 Zetec 5 door Focus for £10,999

Motorpoint

100bhp compared to the Golfs 80bhp and far nicing looking and more than likely a better drive too.

You were making sense until you said "far better looking"! The latest focus is a dog to look at, however good it is dynamically!

This is from a dealer!

Yes you are buying from a dealer, 'deal drivers' don't supply the car.
#18
these cars are seriously underpowered! you need a 1.6 at the very minimum.

if it's a tsi then most drivers will be pleasantly surprised with the speed, it being a 1.4.

if the roads are for racing get a 335i and remap it

Your missing the point! Its not supposed to be powerful, its supposed to be cheap and cheerful and affordable to run. Might struggle a bit on the motorway but will be fine for all other duties. Most people buying one won't care about the performance, and it will hold onto its value well as there is always a market for these second hand.

Also very easily to get hold of, the waiting times for the more powerful TDI and TSI models are ridiculous.

Yeah but its a bit pointless, why pay £12000 for a car that you cant even use on the motorway. Total waste of money! If you've got the money get a MK5 diesel golf from a VW dealer comes with a 1 year warranty, which can be extended.

Yeah its easy to get ahold of for a reason..... the engines pants.

WTF of course you can use it on the motorway! It won't be the quickest car on the road but quite capable of motorway driving, it has a top speed of over 100mph FFS! Its quite clear this car doesn't appeal to you but you don't need to troll on this thread.
#23
lol everyone to their own. get in line for a TSi at the very least!

can't use it on the motorway?!

I do forty miles every day on the M25 and M4 in a much weedier car!

I paid £12000 for a 1.2 Corsa D a little over 2 years ago, wish this was around then! I would have snapped it up, I love 3 door Golfs, although that said I now drive a faster, more rare 3 door Golf GTi, A Seat Ibiza Cupra R :)

1.4 TSI has 122ps

This model is 1.4 80ps!

Still a good deal

Well done you. You're right of course, my boring Ford S-Max is crap compared to your cool Golf. In fact when I recently looked at buying the VW equivalent (Touran) I wept at how inferior I looked in my Ford but decided keep it due to the better ride, performance, nicer interior, lower price and looks (IMHO).

Pity VDUB dont have the confidence in their cars to back em up with a 5 year warranty.
Good price if this is what your after.

£12k for a 1.4 3dr!

Seriously people, that's bad value. I would rather have an Astra and that's saying something!

Let me start by saying I have a 1.4 Golf (2010 MY). This is a bargain. The 1.4 engine, obviously is no gti, but I can assure you its great on the motorway. It will happily cruise at 85-90mph with a bit in reserve for overtaking. Sure you need to drop it a gear if you're overtaking in a hurry on a b road rather than leaving it in whatever gear in a more powerful car. It never feels underpowered or slow. If you want a nice refined car, quiet and well made you really can't go wrong with this.

Lets face it, this is corsa/fiesta money and it will be worth a lot more in 3 years time than a ford or vauxhall.
