Normally people quote the rising prices of wheat etc. as a reason for the high price of bread but just what is this one made from ? gold ?

No, this is how much we have to pay to get decent gluten-free bread.
I've heard this is good but will probably be unwilling to pay the price for it now you can get Genius bread on prescription.

There is a (higher) price for eating (more) healthily, unfortunately.

Slices of Genius Bread are very high (relatively) in calories. Hopefully the Warburtons products will address this.

Genius Bread is also one of the few gluten-free alternatives that do not need to be toasted to enjoy (& defrosts properly too).

Thanks :)

Maybe it's not so good... just been reading the Facebook page. Apparently it's dry & falls apart!

Picked some up today for the mrs to try as an alternative to the wheat free muffins. Her opinion is the middle of the bread isn't bad but the crusts are awful...

I bought from Asda (£2.00) it is not good, when I open the loaf the bread crumbled horizontally - complete waste of money =(

If you buy a prepayment certificate, just over £100 for the year, you can get around 14 units of food delivered each month through your pharmacist. If you just bought bread this is much cheaper than the supermarket - 14 x £2.50 = £35, £420 a year for the £100 outlay.
I get pasta, biscuits, pizza bases, crackers, flour mixes and bread. It is delivered to my door on the first of each month and then I buy what else I need at the supermarket.

Can anyone tell me how this one compares to Genius bread?
