Its an okay price, nothing special. My 19" was £149 from tesco a little while ago but that offer has since expired.

You'd rather have a bloody wharfedale over a samsung. Because of... freeview.

How you got all that rep I'll never know.

A Wharfdale TV, I'd rather watch a corn flakes packet with a screen shaped hole in it, tracing paper covering it with a candle in. No doubt it would be a better picture.

FREEZING!

HAha :P sorry to question your repness. I meant it to be light hearted, but reading it back it seems kinda rude.

Stick with Samsung. Sony. LG. Pioneer. Panasonic... maybe a few others. Companies that have been strong tv makers in the past can be hopeless now. Toshiba being one.

Ello tosh... got a toshiba? No. Because they're pap. :P

Wharfedale isn't "Wharfedale" now, it is an Argos brand.

Just to add my two penneth - WARM

There is nothing particularly wrong or poor about the Wharfedale and its a great price. I have two of these - one is now 2 and a half years old and running perfectly - my son has gone through two XBox 360's on it (now they are a good example of poor build) and it still looks great - no issues after all the abuse a 10 year old can throw at it. Even the blacks and viewing angle are reasonably good - a general weak spot on cheaper LCD screens.

Yes, its not a Panasonic but then ITS NOT THE PANASONIC PRICE is it, clearly. I have a Panasonic in the garage which I bought when I got married 25 years ago and it still has a great picture through the RF (no scart or other input back in the day). Great products.

Sony flatscreens are way overpriced and they are still trying to catch up after their denial of LCD technology. I wouldn't touch one. Samsung can be hit or miss - I have one in the main room and the power button failed after 18 months - cost me £55.00 and a bad back to haul it to a service agent to fix - wouldn't buy another. Pioneer - don't they make stereo's. LG are a reasonable budget brand but you have to look at the spec to see where they have cut corners on the build - normally in the picture technology or the inputs/outputs.

You see - its all a matter of what you pay and what you get in return. For the money the Wharfedales have a great balance of inputs/picture quality/reliability and are half the price of the equivalent Sony - so make a choice but don't **** the budget TV off for no reason. Not everyone has deep pockets or are newly divorced.
