Did a random date (out 20 Jan 09 and return 28 Jan 09) from LGW and the fare was available.

Guess I'll be spending Thanksgiving here ...

If this prices are true 'lkl265' for a lot of different dates you should get ready for some real heat in here.

I still remember that thread that day went I was just looking to find a bargain for a game and end up buying tickets for the whole family to spend Chritsmas in NY for 4 for less than £600

http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=233960

I hope you don't mind me posting that classic thread.

I will log on later with Firefox and give you some heat and reputation, for some weird reason it does not work with Internet Explorer.

I haven't tried any other dates.

I missed that deal from August (I was on holiday!). Otherwise I would have booked a few seats.

cant find any deals from manchester, can anyone help as im flexible with dates
#10
Hot deal, but at $1.50 to a £1, not worth going to America at the moment. I went to Hawaii for my honeymoon only two months ago and we got $1.80. Makes the trip work out far more expensive. :)
#11
I know it was $2.00 nearly when we booked it is going to cost a good bit more, I am so glad we booked a hotel we could cancel free as the price of hotels has fallen steeply we will save about $500 on the weeks accomodation.
#12
Also cost of petrol is lot lower now.

When i search its coming up as having a stop in Detroit, which seems a bit silly when going from London to New York?!
#15
help i can't get it at £164
#16
In fact are they not ALL going via Detroit??
#17
This is a good deal but only if you have friends or family to stay with and don't want to splash out on shopping. The weak pound to the dollar is $1.43 to the £ - tourist/bank rate. Adifferent world to $2.05 only 8/9 months ago.

yeah its not worth goign to the usa now as the $ to the £ is so weak, why bother enjoying yorself, just wait 25 years until its back to $2 to teh £ everyone... go to europe instead, the euro is sensational...

zzzzzzzzzzzzz

great find, heat indeed

Just put some dates in that I'm thinking of going but price is coming out at £1,648.00.
#20
I can get the price and the dates that i was thinking of but not sure i want a 5 hr diversion to Detroit each way when i'm only talking about a long weekend. Will give it a miss but thanks for posting. :)

There's very few sub-$200 hotel rooms in Manhattan during December/January... don't be so quick to turn your nose up at hostels!
#23
- exchange rate kills the deal for me
- going via Detroit (eg end January) means 13hr journeys in both directions

Yes, Would have been a brilliant deal 3 or 4 months ago. Still hot though

My husband has just come back from a trip to the USA with NWA. It was his first flight with them, I just called him about this deal and he said even if it was free he would not set foot on that airline again worst flight ever there and back.:w00t:
#26
I went with NWA From London to Dallas, with 1 stop somewhere... All 4 flights were delayed, I had to stay one night in Michigan, and 1 night somewhere else, they lost my luggage on the 1st day - I was doing a photoshoot, so all my lights were left somewhere and had to borrow from other photographers. Happy days...

help i can't get it at £164

Same here...cheapest I can get on a few different dates I tried in Dec/Jan is £257 each.
(tried the example given earlier of 20th-28th Jan and that's nowhere near £164 any longer...(now comping up @ £263 each for me))

As much as I'd love to take advantage of this the weak pound puts pay to any savings which would be made.

Such much for Britain being best placed to cope with the financial crisis, we're being worse hit than anywhere else thanks to Mr Brown loading this country with every more debt, hence the low valuation of the pound. Even during the bad days of the 1970's it only dropped 14% against the dollar, it's gone from $2.05 to less than $1.45 in under a year!

There's a lot more to New York and the US than just shopping. Admittedly it's a pricey city but still well worth the trip.

A good price but 12 hours traveling is a bit much considering a normal flight will take 8 hours.
