Just booked a return flight to JFK in August at £274.10 from Manchester.

Been searching for ages and all other sites and carriers are at £570+.

Expedia seems to be having some special deals since BA site is at £600 for the same flight.

Not sure whether it applies to all airports, or the dates it covers - just seems that you have to avoid flying on a Sunday. Just checked £249 for the same dates as mine from Heathrow

Oh and there is 1% thru Quidco too.

Wow thankyou! That's my wedding party happy!!! :-D

is it me? the link takes me to a strange website that needs an id and login. it probably is me but am not sure!
#3
Yeah, the direct link is screwed.
#4
link takes you to somewhere weird.....
#5
i ignored the link and went through quidco
#6
The link in the original post seems to stop at an affiliate link - which seems like a HUKD one...so link might need changing so it continues all the way through?
#7
also you fly to JFK, but come back from Newark or something, it's still in new york, but just a heads up, as it's a bit confussing. It may however just be the day I've chosen.
#8
Just go direct to Expedia (unless you want quidco that is) and it works

Just booked flights for October from Manchester for £548 for two people.

Wife's been pestering for a NY trip for her 40th birthday for ages so thanks very much for the post
#9
you could go Toronto for just over £100 with canadian affair then catch a train, may take a bit longer but you do save quite a bit. Good deal for a direct BA flight to New york.

It was an option for me although more expensive. The cheapest one was JFK both ways:)

It's next door in New Jersey, at a guess maybe $40 in a taxi, or $5 on the bus to Penn station.

Hampton Inn Times Square is an excellent value hotel. Especially because the rooms are massive by NY's standards. Book direct so you can easily cancel anytime 24hrs before if you find a cheaper last minute deal.
#17
hampton is coming in at £1000 so £200 not exactly cheap :whistling::whistling::whistling:

not as good as my flights from man to jfk for £150 return with delta lol :-D:-D:-D
#19
I've booked http://hotels.travelzoo.com/new-york-hotels/358501 It's booked directly with the hotel so zebrum advises you can cancel the day before if a last minute deal comes up!

TravelZoo is generally quite good...here's the link for New York Hotels http://hotels.travelzoo.com/new-york-hotels/

Booked a week in July for 4 with Hotel for £1800. Cheers OP.

#25

#26
That's great! I can see my brother now. Thanks!!!! The best deal Ive seen on here!!

Dont bother using the link as yes it does take u to a strange site, I just went directly through Expedia and it worked!! Woo hoo, well excited!

I always book NY hotels through www.priceline.co.uk on the name your own price section. Always a good mainstream brand hotel and just keep changing your criteria and price slightly until you are accepted. We got the Roosevelt Hotel last year for about £70 a night. That's the hotel from the film 'Maid in Manhatten' near Grand Central Station
#28
Fantastic deal - thanks OP ! Rep added!
We were looking to book four flights to NY today and then this deal appeared.
You have saved me nearly £900 !! :-D
#29
Yea. I was so excited to get this price too. Saved myself £900 too - had to share; but in truth I would have just waited a little longer and hoped that a similar deal would appear later in the year.

I had to get my wife to check twice that I hadn't missed something and was gonna be stung after.

But all is confirmed - once you have the BA reference number you can log-in their site and see the booked flight. Looks like you can choose your seats and pre-check in too.

Just booked 3 to Boston for £777. We were looking at west coast usa last week but that was coming in at over double. Where does one find the BA booking ref? I have the Expedia ref, but I dont see a BA ref.

You should get an email with subject line: E-Ticket Confirmation XXXXXXXXX

If you look in the email at the top it will say "Information for Trip Locator: XXXXXX".

This is the BA Booking ref. Just need to enter this code and your surname on the BA front page and that was that.

just bought two tickets for me and my flatmate from manchester for august 1st-11th (so we get 2 weekends in) for £550 total. Just need to find a decent cheap centrally-located hotel now near the subway! lol
#36
Fantastic, I just got Boston flight in the summer holidays at £259 each :) We'll be heading up the Maine coast for a great break and some fantastic beaches!

(So combined with the delta flights I got to California for the easter holidays, means I picked up a couple of great deals on flights this year and I'll be having nearly 6 weeks in the US this year!)

So thanks for the heads up!

Temped to take a punt on this for easter???

Never been, what should I be looking for, with regards to a hotel???

Would need to be cheap???

Near a subway??? So if it is, it is easy to get a subway train anywhere round manhatten???. Do they have passes for the week etc....

Should I book shows here, or when we get to the place???

Location for a hotel, NY is huge?..

First new york and cheap hotels dont exist, the more you are in the centre of manhatten the more £££££££ you will pay, on average a hotel in mid manhatten will set you back at least £100 per night try outta manhatten and it goes down to £70 ish dependant on star
Trying to find a cheap hotel in central manhatten that had a private bathroom is a battle in itself, i would recommend the pennsylvania hotel (right slap bang in the middle of it all) its not the prettiest thing but when in new york you just need a base and a shower, i booked with www.hotelopia.com with the 15% discount code 31245630 and then through quidco for an extra 10% off, it should have cost me £560 for 5 nights ro but i got it for £427.
You could also look a the royal park hotel in upper manhatten thats coming in at £240 for 5 nights ro inc taxes and right near a subway, this hotel can be booked through www.hostelbookers.com (but it is a hotel not a hostel) you can choose private rooms and bath which is what the above price includes
Its easy to get a subway and a pass for 7 days costs just $24
Hope this helps

Really good site for hotels is http://www.hotelconxions.com/. I always use them and they are really good. The cosmopolitan is a good place to stay gets fab reviews on trip advisor and is in a cool, funky area.

Im so jealous, would love to book but just went in october and am getting married soon so dont think i can justify it. Unless of course i have my hen weekend there, lol.

Got my confirmation but when you log in to BA's website it says seats can only be chosen when you online check-in, which is only 24 hours before you fly...is yours different or are they all like that?
