Quite a rarity - the last time Newcastle won any silverware. Is it really 40 years ago - even Sunderland and Middlesborough have cups in their Trophy cabinets. lol

Quality

Újpesti Dózsa were the final opponents.

Being a Newcastle fan of latter times I didn't realise that if you were a good side you won things likes cups and championships.;-)

I always think it's funny the way Newcastle consider themselves a Big Club. :p

Looks smart though and decent price so I'll vote HOT!
#8
But they are a big club and used to finish above Liverpool in the Premiership, making the Champions League a good few years in a row.

Now though I don't know what's happened to them...still got the most faithful supporters in the world though!

They were, Man Utd,Liverpool any club considered a big player could end up the same with some very bad choices and management

Someone got to the barcode joke before me.

Just think the tills would blip when you walk past them in Asda!

Could be worse, like them 2nd class barcodes in red! lol
#17
Voted hot out of sympathy to the loyal Geordie fans who deserve better than they get. Should never have sacked Sir Bobby Robson they have been jinxed ever since then.

It's the American Football refs as well. My mate working over there was asked "are you a fan of the referees?"

Mind you he was also asked "Do you have freedom in England?"

Keeeeeeeegan.

And we wonder why people call us deluded... :x

The Fairs Cup was by invitation only at the time so in a similar way to their Inter Toto Certificate it isn't a major trophy.

My dad told me they last won something in the 50's.

New board & new manager? Could do with a decent midfielder to play alongside the excellent Guthrie, i.e. someone to replace Butt (why does he look like he has aged 20 years in the last 5!) who can't always keep pace and although he has some good games is too inconsistent . I can't see why they wouldn't want to swap a slow player like Alan Smith (Championship level at best) for Mido if that deal hasn't been ruled out.
I also think they should drop Coloccini and try playing Steven Taylor with Bassong at centre back.
Will Barton ever be the same player he was at Man City? If Portsmouth are supposedly going to offer around £5 million then they should jump at it!

Stupid barcodes....

no matter how bad you think things are at your club, just look at the barcodes for a bit of a laugh!

The ****ing fairs cup haha.

looks like a top you would see gary glitter wearing
#33
You would have to be absolutely stupid to buy this. No doubt there are 1000s of order from thick geordies. Only the geordies would let Mike Ashley and Denis Wise continue to take the p-ss out of them.

Pity it's not summer - this would be perfect to start the barbie !!!!!

Well newcastle have many good runs in the league finish in the top four plenty of times. Also we had few good runs in the champions league.. I would take a good run in the champions league over winning "micky mouse" cups like the league cup and the championship play off!!:thumbsup:

Good runs don't win trophies mate and talking of which it's been at least 10 years since you had one of those "good runs" anyway!

At least your poorer relations Boro can claim to have won something within the last five years.
