Popped into Sports Direct earlier today to find that the current Newcastle United home shirt is selling for £14.99 (Junior sizes) and £22.49 (Senior Sizes)

Senior sizes elsewhere are between £30 and £40 at JJB, Kitbag etc the club shop is reasonable to be fair at £30 senior, and £22.50 for junior size compared to those two, but Sports Direct are still beating them at this price!

I'm 20 and managed to bag myself a junior sized 13-14 one at £14.99, and its pretty much a perfect fit, there's not much of me to be fair, but its still a pretty big shirt for a 13 to 14 year old I'd have thought! Now I can proudly watch us at St James' in my colours.... as we go down.

Bargainous.

Dont get y this is being voted hot. £14.99 for bog roll is quiet expensive u no ;-)

The official club shops reduced these a while back, suspect it's due to a change of sponsorship looming, bit of a cop out really, as the home shirts are meant to be biannual, the away and 3rd/euro (haha) yearly. The Government sponsor NUFC at the moment due to the Northern Rock Fiasco. Manc man or whatever your name was, Newcastle last won a Major Trophy in 1969 (The Fairs Cup/UEFA), so success wise aren't a big club such as Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Ure, howevet Turnover wise they are.

Keegan will keep us up, just. And only because fortunatley there are teams worse than us.

My thoughts precisely... I got 12 rolls for £3 something... I won't get many wipes outta that shirt, and I'd want to clean my hands after touching it :P

Surely they can't do that ? Its been advertised as being the shirt for 2 years.. False advertising etc?

MA owns sports direct, so suspect he can clear all the newcastle stock that route.

On a serious note, newcastle are on a very slippery road, they have to get something from at least one of these games birmingham, fullam or reading. if they dont then championship here they come!

From everything I heard Northern Rock actually paid for the advertising way ahead of when they actually needed to. So I think that there signed up through next year at least.

Price must be for the future of the Championship?

Or possible bail money for Joey Barton...?
#19
Potential buyers of this shirt should save their money, instead putting it towards a 3 legged donkey to be Newcastles new defensive lynchpin.

Keegan has stated he intends to bring a lot of new faces to Newcastle United.
Peter Beardsley is reported to have asked for one.

What’s the difference between the Shay Given and a taxi driver?
A taxi driver will only let in four at a time.:-D

I remember when [Sega] Dreamcast sponsored Arsenal for 3 years. The console was bascially buried by even the start of the 3rd season but it was a 3 year contract.

Newcastle have always been my top English club (Rangers being my favourite club) but it's been a long time since I've had one of their shirts. Might get me one of these :)

Thats what I orignally thought, but local press stated other day that the bloke put in charge of the northern rock is looking to cut ties with all the newcastle sports teams that they sponsor.

Don't get Owen on the back then, or the Premier leagur badges on the arm. I'm a geordie BTW. Just having a laugh at our club like the rest of the country.

That'll be another 2 months then, after we find you hanging from Shearers bar

Oh how I love that Italian team Fiorentina. This ain't a bad price for the shirt, although I'm pretty sure there is a reason besides possible relegation why alot of stores are selling these off cheap.

Possibly, but as I said, there are worse teams than us in the league. Which could be our saving grace

Quite cheap for a pack of firelighters, think I'll buy two! Although by the time bonfire night comes round, it'll be away days to Swansea and co!

Derby, I suppose, but who else. Three go down, remember. :)

Mike Ashley is leaving so etting rid of the stock - it gives him nightmares:p
#36
its a good price
I'm a spurs fan and am pissing myself at the mess newcastle are in but they are still a big club fan base wise. probably bigger than those no history quiet lot at Stamford Bridge. They can try to buy all the fans they want - doesnt change the fact that no-one with one iota of sense buys into it. Cheats forever
plus.. we made John Terry cry :)
#37
stop worrying people. we have written this season off. next year we'll get back our champions league spot

just you wait and see :-D
