I had to use this link - http://www.newsgroupreviews.com/newsdemon-special-coupon.html

Then click the $9.99 Black Friday Deal link.

Dont know why the link doesn't work.

Hmm, trying to decide if its worth getting this over the Astraweb 180Gb/$25. It usually takes me a few months to use 180Gb so may stick with that, although the 30Gb of online storage is nice. How is it accessed, can you hotlink to files?

Is this a monthly recurring fee or a one-off £6.25 fee???

Does anyone know if BT throttle the ports to this? I used to use newsgroups a while back and would consider going back to it, as I'm finding that BT are throttling torrent and p2p traffic.

Been with Newsdemon for a couple of years. No bother. Getting approx 3Mb/s download on 8Meg capped BT line.

Do you know if i'd need to cancel my account ( i'm already a user) then start a new subscription to get this rate or can i "upgrade" to it?
#8
Does anyone know if you can still use Newzbin with this?
I used to use news groups a while ago but stopped when i moved home.

And i presume this price is for life or until you cancel?

I use to be with BT for my broadband and had no issues with them throttle as I used the SSL over port 80 the newsdemon offer :-)

I canceled and existing account and signed up under this new deal.

Blocknews offer a better deal than Astraweb, been with them for a while, rock solid service without any issues, price is: 200GB/$21.59.

I'm on the AstraWeb unlimted DSL for $11 p/m, but which has no online storage that I'm aware of and only 20 connections. However I get download speeds of 1800kb/s on my BT line whih I'm happy with. Anyone else on a BT 20MB/s line using Newsdemon like to share their experiences?

edit, but Blocknews looks VERY interesting. Might try 5GB with them first to see what speeds they achieve.

Here is one I've used in the past at full 50mbit speed:

http://www.hitnews.eu/index_en.php?group=2

It's £58 for a year on 50mbit package with unlimited downloads and 370+ days retention.

They even have a free 3 day trial and you don't have to enter any bank or card details for it.

How does this compare to Rapidshare and such for downloading of items?

Nice one on that, and this is still available and an excellent deal IMO, I didnt use usenet for a couple of months, stopped paying my bill to Simply Usenet of £2.99. That's now £4.99. I asked for it to be reinstated if they'd said no, pay the £4.99 now I would def have gone for this. I'm still in two minds, but I don't rly mind how long things take to come down.
Anyways, nice deal mate :)
