good price, but buyers should be aware that there are very few lenses for this camera and they're £££. I doubt many people would be happy with just the 16mm and the 18-55 is £225+, whereas the nex3 + 16mm + 18-55mm is £399 or £75 less than this plus 18-55mm

Good price, agreed. Ugly isn't it though ?
Ol' Salty above has it bang on with the lens cost too.
If you want to do the true DSLR thing, buy Nikon/Canon with the bigger lens - for maybe same as this

the nex5 is soo much nicer to hold, i would say sony have recently released the e mount licence so people like tamron and sigma cant start producing lenses

I've got this camera with the 18-55mm and I love it, having checked out the DPReview forums there are lots of people who've got the 16mm and like it. worth checking out flickr

I would suggest reading up in dpreview also. can be a very cost effective camera with lots and lots of lenses available if you;re prepared to lose auto focus. New range of lenses due, er, sometime....

I bought one with the 16mm lens and it's great fun. Not got a clue what I'm doing yet, like...

I'm surprised this didn't get more heat. The 16mm lens alone usually goes for nearly this price http://camerapricebuster.com/Sony_E_16mm_f2.8_Fisheye_for_NEX_pc.html

I think some people have missed the point of this camera. It's not necessarily a replacement for a DSLR but something different. The autofocus is slightly slower you can't use standard flashes and there's no viewfinder - just the LCD but there are some good points.

The angled LCD means it's great for unobtrusive street photography and the tiny size means you can stick in your pocket wherever you go. If you're going for a weekend break only taking handluggage you're not always going to want to take a big EOS. In tests the IQ is comparable to that of a 550D and it performs excellently in low light. In fact the APS-C censor is the same as that found in many bigger cameras.

Because this doesn't have a mirror the sensor is a lot closer to the front of the camera meaning it's a lot easier to use adapters for old lenses and it's far more likely to achieve infinity focus.

I have a Nex 5 but if this deal was still on I'd definitely pick one up just for the pancake lens and spare battery.

Oh and it looks like this is back up to £349.99 now. The cheapest price currently looks to be Jessops at around the £300 mark.
