I wish someone would explain exactly what these things do, sorry to be a total tech dumbass?

The main thing these things do what people want them for is to illegally obtain pay-to-view channels for free. If you want to watch said channels in glorious 360p or 480p (basically going back 20 years for video quality), and want your 'live sports' to buffer every couple of minutes (i.e stop playing then jump and miss part of something), want constant pixellation and see 'sorry stream could not be found' messages, this is for you.

I gave up on Kodi and the like a few months ago, after spending more time fiddling trying to get a stream to a footie match, than actually watching the footie match.

If you want a awful UI experience, with lots of fannying about and poor picture/sound quality, get one of these boxes. If not, watch MOTD in HD like me 8)

It's like having an android phone on your TV, you have access to the play store and you can install and run apps like Netflix, plex and so on, it can also play video files from a USB stick or streamed from your pc, it turns any TV into a smart TV.

Every android box I have owned when running Kodi, and there is panning movement, the video gets a litlle jerky. would this be any better?
get Amazon fire stick

What a daft thing to say, this will stream 4K the fire stick wont the fire stick doesnt come with google play store you have to sideload everything and theirs 100s of things this will do that the fire stick wont and the fire stick is £10 more. I have a fire stick and its sat dormant in the back of the tv for months why i use my shield or my android tv box. I have to say that this is one of the daftest things ive read on here in ages. Good find OP i have a ZIDOO X6 Pro and ive had it since launch the main reason i choose it was its a powerful box and it gets regular updates but ive never been happy with it so im thinking of getting T95z Plus.

I think Kodi is still a little flaky in this respect. It is great for playing pre-burnt/downloaded movies but I've yet to find a single plugin which which has an extensive library, streams seamlessly, on-demand, and is around 6+ months later, hence why millions are paying subscriptions for netflix etc.

great deal for the spec though, voting HOT

exodus, salts and phoenix. between the 3 of them you'll find anything.

Have you went into video settings and changed 'match refresh rate to video to on start/stop'.?

The other thing you could try is enabling Vertical Blank Sync (both of these settings are on the Output page on video settings). My only concern is that I thought these were both enabled by default, does your screen support 24Hz?

Amazon Fire sticks are rubbish in comparison to these. There so hard to navigate when you have to side load apps. I actually give mine away.

No HDR support?
Is it going to support all Kodi plugins, including streaming/sopcast and Rom Collection Browser working with emus?

If you have an Android phone/tablet, it's basically the same thing for your TV

Turns your non smart TV in to smart TV
Turns your Smart TV into an even smarter TV
Allows you to install almost any Android app (same as an Android phone/tablet)
Access to streaming services, like Netflix and erm loads of others
Sort of basic gaming machine if you plug in a usb or Bluetooth controller/joypad

Lots of videos etc on YouTube if you need more detailed information.

I'm still looking for a box with low latency for Moonlight pc game streaming. Anyone know how this would perform? Fire tv 4k is unusable...

Do yourself a favour and buy a wireless keyboard with touch pad with it as navigating Netflix, itv hub and I player a pain without.

Bought two of these recently from Gearbest for just below £30 each, so this is a great price. The boxes themselves are very small compared to a lot of other available Android boxes. I have found the Android Marshmallow operating system to run quite smoothly on these boxes, with no crashes or freezes. Kodi also runs fine on them. Apparently these boxes were the best selling Android box on Amazon UK in the month of July, and get great reviews around the web.

Here is a decent review on them. http://troypoint.com/nexbox-a95x-review/

I have this box, bought a few month back for same price different brand. very good, learn how to use Kodi and install: exodus, salts, ukturks and phoenix video add on. mine is connected by Ethernet and streams 1080 res. I also recently added android app snsex and I play the original Mario kart... really for the money and once you learn a few things googling questions to enhance it and have a mini keyboard it's all good, I do not watch normal TV anymore...

I jest will probably buy this as 2nd box!

Great deal heat given, just remember though, it could be caught for VAT through Customs, and if it does not work at anytime, you will have to post it back to China, so you pay your money and you takes your chance. My guess is somebody on here will be unlucky.

I also recently added android app snsex and I play the original Mario kart...

That sounds more like an extension of White C than a Snes emulator ;)

to anyone that owns one of these. ..or anything similar/better at roughly same price. ...does the remote work at distance ?
the 2 boxes I have had are a real pain. ..having to have remote within six feet, pointed at exact right angle. ...and then still hit n miss.
Otherwise great boxes.

Love these android boxes have 2 of them here right now , one with a built in DVB sat tuner that i have tuned to 19 east for the free F1 feed on rtl and then switched back to freesat @ 28.2east, on the same box i have Amazon Prime Video, BBC Iplayer plus a few other on demand players but they are seldom used as my humax freeview box has them also and it has a better search function.
This deal on offer is pretty good especially for a box with that amount of memory and with the latest 905x chipset that is designed for android 6, but if it is for gaming then i think the older 905 chipset and android 5.1 is quicker.
