This seems a great price for those "heavy" deliveries, certainly cheaper methods if you have a light parcel, but as anyone knows once it goes over 10kg the price with other couriers/royal mail rockets up.

And guess who that is with????

Yodel 48 Formerly DHL
Parcel delivery within 1-3 working days throughout the most of UK’s mainland. Day Definite collections are not guaranteed but currently enjoy a 96% success rate (*90% delivered next day).
Collections are between 7am – 7pm.

Obviously the item isn't that important then? ;)

Have you used City Link lately they're no better than Yodel.

Its not like for like is it, yours may take a slightly longer parcel but UPS take a heavier parcel - and if I had to choose between UPS and City Link I know who I'd choose - Gwizz are also an established firm and not just an Ebay shop.Using any of these 3rd party sellers is a risk if you have a problem.

I appreciate that but on those measurements and at 20KG Gwizz are over £12, obviously if it goes over 20KG then yours comes into play, but like for like Gwizz are more expensive...

But I take your point about UPS being better

It's Savile and why would he like a next day parcel service? He's dead!

A pedant who doesn't understand tenses... risky business.

City Link recently left a parcel as delivered in the rain on a Saturday. Luckily I turned up to office on that day. Ridiculous!!
#20
citylink=crap! delivered our parcel to a neighbour about 8 doors away and didn't even bother to leave us a calling card! avoid like the plague!
#21
Do a search on city link and amazon complaints. You may think twice about using them. After years of experience of missing parcels, so called attempted deliveries stating no one at home and carded yes I was home and no card, I shudder when I find out they are the courier. I just took out a free trail of amazon prime ordered a top end printer which should have been next day. Saw with the dispatch email who was delivering and guess what it turned up 24 hours late and after normal deliveries would have finished. Suspect amazon were feeding the complaint I made back. I appreciate that some companies can improve but citylink isn't one of them. Use at your peril.

I wont deny there are bad couriers and good couriers, I think we all agree Yodel are the gutter couriers...

But all the rest all seem to have good and bad, google any courier and you will find rafts of complaints, as people dont tend to write about things when their parcel gets delivered ontime...
#23
Cool. Got to send a heavy item soon. Cheers

City Link are the worst courier ever. Their idea of attempting to deliver is to automatically put a card through your door. It was so bad I stopped using Ebuyer until they changed courier.

I dont understand that, you mean that they put a card through your door if you are not in? that is what all couriers do?

Agree...City Link are pretty bad. They lie so much.. insisting they've been to the address and left a card, which in my case wasn't true and the delivery was meant to be coming to a shop which is open all day long.

Would't trust City Link!

Parcel Force are pretty reliable and if you book through Paypal then you get bit of discount(that is if you're trading on ebay).

DPD another good one in terms of delivery timing as they give you an hour slot rather than a 12 hour slot.

Guys, don't know if someone actually used this, but do not expect to be able to ship a parcel 150x40x40.
Pay attention to this little thing mentioned in the ebay add: "The Girth cannot exceed 300cm. To get the girth add the 2 shortest lengths together and then times by 2, then add the longest length. (Must not exceed 300cm"

This will restrict the parcel to much lower dimensions, you can try to understand what girth is, or use this tool: http://expressgrouponline.com/parcelClalc/delivery.html

The link above is taken from this seller who says you can have a parcel of up to 180cm on one side, yet you can hardly get near that using the calculator.
EDIT: Even if I put 180x1x1 it still says its too big. 76x50x50 is too big (75x50x50 seems to work).

The description says "Next day collection & Following day delivery for parcels up to 20kg only £11.95" not £10.95 ?

i would not worry about that, he has obviously dropped his price and forgot to update his blurb, the price is £10.95

City link they tried to deliver a brand new Humax that cost £230.00 to me... the box looked like it did 10 rounds with Tyson what a joke of a company.

Same with amazon.

That's good to know, the seller I posted above seem to use DPD, not that I knew it was better.
Will use them soon and I will find out how good they are I guess. What I liked about that seller is they didn't hide the girth detail but putted right on top, and they say you get £5 insurance / kg.
#34
City Link are terrible, i used their 24 hour service via parcel2go, 2 days later they still hadn't even collected the parcel!!
#35
Yodel + City Link = Definite avoids if wanting a smooth service without damaged goods.
I'd use UPS then ParcelForce then TNT/DPD as my top three in order of best service.
Yodel + City Link are normally the ones you can find who'll offer the same service as other couriers for cheaper, but everyone knows why, terrible customer service and you'd think the parcels are just thrown around in the back of the van's by monkeys.

That's unfair. Monkeys would be far more careful ;)

So this is £9.13 + VAT.

Cheaper from Interparcel via UPS.

are you people all missing something? this is expensive. parcelmonkey do it for £9.30 via citylink next day . never had a problem with citylink and i send 1000 parcels a year with them. only 4 on average per working day but always a fast and good service in my experience. citylink only did 24hour delivery until recently unless that is only in scotland, this is what my local citylink driver tells me. heres link to the £9.30 , so much cheaper and easier to book.
