It's all personal taste I suppose. I don't like the big hulking, led, side window look. I prefer it to be a bit more understated. I never "got" the Alienware cases either :D

Software for students make windows a bit cheaper for those who qualify (i.e. those with kids at school).

About £42 delivered.

Take no notice of the haters i build and spec systems for customers all the time and even though you can build something for cheaper not everyone is capable or wants to go down that route. This is a proper built system and the i3 is a great processor and can be overclocked massively with little effort and there's great guides on the net to do this and you also get a warranty on the whole unit so if it go faulty no taking the part out to send away for repair, with this they will collect the unit from you. Take it from someone whos built loads of systems from £300 to well over a grand this is a great buy that will do everything you want for a good while and has space for upgrades like a graphics card and so on.

Go for it the no OS is no problem stick Ubuntu on or get a moody copy of windows for the time been.
#12
Someone asked about a OS being on it but after looking a the specs it states Microsoft Office 60 Day Trial and Microsoft Windows Live Essentials, you cant put them on nothing so it suggests there must be but its worth a call to see if it does have and what it is but with the £500 original price it states Windows7 HP is my bet and it must be the 64 version because of the memory it has.

And the scan bundle only has a years warranty, this cant be beaten in my opion and the Biostar board from what i remember wasn't a bad board.

not everyone uses/needs Windows. There are plenty of flavours of Linuz out there that are free so saying you need to add £89 is a little misleading.

Also if you already have a non oem copy of Windows and were retiring an old pc you can move the licence from that pc to this one so again it is only +£89 (and as mentioned ealier much cheaper from software4students.co.uk) if you needed Windows 7 and didnt have a copy. In fact much like me saying it doesnt have a blu ray burner so need to add another £100

Your thinking of the Sandy Bridge chips, this is the older socket 1156 i3 so you can overclock it.

Still waiting for those UEFI boards...

But 'upgrade' suggests you can't just do a fresh install?

I was tempted, so googled the company for reviews. I was put off when the only positive reviews I found on forums were from people who had made only that single post. All the negative posts were from people who had made lots of contributions to the forums.
Made me think that the company were spamming good reviews of their products.
Only my opinion, but I didn't buy in the end.

You can do a fresh install with the upgrade copy you get from S4S, done it myself on a netbook with a freshly formatted HDD.

They spammed this site with a fake glowing review on a previous thread!

Its not about the heat dahat, thats easy to fix. Its that fact the power supply cannot cope with anything too demanding, if you want a gaming PC you need to look elsewhere.

The quality of this or any computer from cube247 is in question and with cube247 reputation thus far, I have to say, do not but anything from this company you will regret it.
#37
Anyone get one of these and have an opinion on how it's running?

Also, I have an (official) copy of win7 OS that I bought and put on an old pc, do you know if i can just use that on this machine, or is there still lots of hassle with microsoft to go through?

Cheers... great price!
#38
Now £249...!

What's the psu like, could I stick the XFX HD 5830 XXX 840MHz Edition 1GB DDR5 from ebuyer in, or do I need more power?
