Ok Ok, you can buy 7'' DPF for 29.99 now, but if you have one of those you will know that its worth paying the extra for a Hi-Res screen! This is Hi-Res and 8'' so you photos are shown in the size they are taken in and not re-sized meaning your freinds and relatives dont look short and fat (unless they actually are!!!).

Also has Nextbases 'fit any frame' feature.

This is £100 everywhere else.......so seems a bargain!

Any1 know if this is any good ? Looking at one now for mum+dad's chrimbo present.

Is the '800RGB (W) x 600 (H) high resolution, DPI 125' pretty standard now for a photo frame, like say the kodaks that boots were doing around this price ?
#4
Nice profile pic!! good result today. this isnt a standard res, 800x600 is about as good as you can get. The fact its 8'' is the winner here, means photos are viewed in the format taken on your camara.... Also if its for you parents then being able to fit it into a normal picture frame is a good feature as it means they can use either an existing frame or go and buy one that suits their decor......

Thanks OP - was looking to buy one for Mum for Xmas - taken the hard work out of finding one!

If you're into quality, get this. It's worth every penny over the cheap rubbish out there. I haven't come across a better DPF to date!

Anyone know what the maximum delay for the slideshow is on this one?
Several I've looked at recently have a max. of 20 seconds. I'd like one that can delay an hour or more between pictures.

Thanks in advance.
#15
Which is better, this or the Jessops one in the other deal?
#16
I have nextbase portable dvd players for the car (I beleive they are the best) - very good players so- as a brand I trust nextbase to be good quality - and these should be very good. However, just noticed they don't play movie files, and many do... Therefore, although tempted- I like to take movie clips on the camera and play back as well as photos. (like the idea of putting into your own frame)...

Max delay is 300 secs pc99 ;-)

300 seconds, so just put 12 copies of each picture on the card and it'll be displayed for an hour

Can it read SD HC does anyone know?
#23
euro,
had a look at their nextbase site too, no sign of SDHC compatability at all.
#24
Hi I have one and can confirm it does take SDHC. Hope this helps!

Nomanm, all i can say is that this frame does all i need/ask and the pic and build qulaity is first class. Plus i now have it in a nice wooden picture frame i brought from M&S that suits my home decor. rather than a sleek black/white that would stick out a mile.... Why dont other manufactures offer this feature? very pleased

if you read the Jessops thread I have listed all the things that bug me about that frame but it is nice and does video I am guessing it has a very similar if not the same display. I think I would have that one over this but this one does appear to show photos for longer periods which is a plus!
But the Jessops plays mp3's which I wasn't bothered with until the card I took out my phone had some tunes and it was pretty cool actually! Wouldn't want that all the time though. You can also (unofficially) take it out the frame too!

Thanks for reminder < niknak >

the one on ibood today looks better than this one, or am i wrong?
#34
Are there two levels of specification for this frame? A high spec "Gallery 15" and lower spec "15-S"? It's very confusing as different suppliers use different labels and give very varying amounts of detail. Can't go by prices as these don't seem to bear any relation to the given specs.

Does this have a rechargeable battery or does it need to be plugged in all the time?

I found a Nextbase 15 on another site and it says the battery is rechargeable, but it also says it comes with a remote control, so perhaps it's a higher end model.

I have to say that the extra £40 for the rechargable version is rank. The 3hr play time is hardly worth the extra expense.

Sorry to repeat this if you've already covered it, but wanted to know
1. whether the 15-S comes with a remote?
2. Does the 15-S have both USB and memory card functions?
The 360 picture on the Play.com website is good but doesn't specifically say it's the 15-S

The guys at Play.com were useless and didn't even have the level of info I had by looking at their website.

cheers

I found details of three different spec levels for the 8" frame on the Nextbase web site. They are designated 15-X, 15-D and 15-S in DECREASING order of facilities. 15-S is widely available at £59.99 but not even Nextbase is offering the others as such. 3 Wise Monkeys have one at £124.99 that looks as if it might be the X model. Hard to decide if the extra is worth it. I'm a bit of a gadget freak but know from past experience that I never use all the fancy extras!
