To anyone thinking of buying this - don't.
Very overpriced and mine had to go back to nextbase after 8 months. Countless reports of battery issues.
Not even worth half the price, I strongly recommend a möbius can instead

Techmoan's great review of the Mobius 2; well worth a watch for anyone considering a dashcam

I bought a Yi with the Chinese menu for a 1/3rd of the price, I thought I would be disappointed but it's such a good dashcam - easy to use even though you can not read the words - now I would not pay more - I guess the picture is going to be better but I suspect as it 's more expensive you can expect it to be stolen while your not in the car!

If I get chance later I'll upload a side by side comparison of the möbius vs this nextbase. In my opinion the möbius is sharper ( and has also been far more reliable). I forgot to mention that my nextbase crashed a lot too, you'd have to unplug it for 10 mins, then it starts doing this weird power off then back on cycle until it's totally dead. Then plug it back in and it's ok for a few days till it crashes again.

They are good. I have 2 in my car (one front and one rear) plus they support up to 128gb micro sd cards whereas the nextbase only supports 32gb

Bought (from another amazon merchant) 2 years ago and no problems. Wouldn't look at spending much more unless you prefer relying on a name (eg the Mobius or similar) .

I purchased several cheaper (Chinese) versions from Amazon and they were with dodgy manuals and no customer support, video quality poor and didn't record sometimes. Bought a 312 from halfords and hasn't failed yet, excellent picture quality both night and day. Great UK customer service. You can't put a price on that! Forget the cheap knock offs.

I have a Next base 512 as my front can I have had it over year no problems wereas I had two 412s as rear cams and had to have both replaced due to faults. I wouldn't change my 512 happy to purchase another if required.

+1 for the 312, mine has been rock solid, with great visual quality

rubbish dashcams not a patch on those from thinkware, blackvue and ipixi winycam. This dashcam has that dreaded suction holder too.
