Happy for you. Previously bought 2 Nexus from my local store for that price. Now they don't have any more in stock
#2
I managed to get one in the sun deal last year. It's a great tablet still and worth getting in place of the nexus 9 for the price!
#3
Just to remind you, it's 2015 so nexus can feel a bit outdated..
#4
My main gripe with it are the massive bezels.

Even for 2015 specs are pretty good. More importantly system is running smooth what many tablets can not say..

I've had one of these since release, mostly use it for toilet reading & the occasional video streaming in bed. I can't say it has been a smooth ride. I have had technical issues with it off & on, unresponsiveness, software glitches & errors & seemingly endless updates from Google. It has put me off the tablet market to a degree & I much prefer a laptop now.

But for £99 - it's worth a look if you want an entry level tablet, which is how I class this after having seen & used my friends fancy pants iPad. Certainly don't consider a cheap tablet - that would be a grave error in judgement & open you up to a world of pain :|

I wonder if you can give them a 10minutemail.com address at the till... X)

Hi, owning this tablet since it was released never had any difficulties. You should have send it for RMA

Called a store near me and they have stock but the guy didn't know anything about the £100 discount.

Tempted to risk it and drive there anyway.

It's still one of the best tablets available. It runs pure Android and receives updates directly from Google, so that's one very good reason to buy it over any other Android tablet. I'd much rather have this than a Hudl 2.

Google app updates or ROM updates? There hasn't been that many constant ROM updates and app updates are to be expected as they're updated from holo to material design.

It's best to leave the Nexus 7 with Android 4.4.4 installed for now until Lollipop has some of it's issues worked out. At least the tablet will receive ROM updates though and there's also a plethora of custom ROM's that can improve responsiveness and features. I'm an Android dev myself and I've never had any issues with my Nexus 7 though.

One very old tip that stopped me tearing my hair out - make sure the back cover is properly clicked home, otherwise wifi is cr*p...

Called my local store and they said this offer had expire a couple weeks ago.

Called head office who also said this offer has expired and as far as they were aware no outlets in the country try should be running this.

Would be interested to know where OP bought his from!

Rom or Google updates...[

Bit of both mate. To be honest, it has been a pain in the ass at times, and I just ended up putting my laptop in my bag again. I took the software back to factory, I no longer pile on the Apps & I run a cleaner regularly.

Just not convinced at the moment, but thanks for the advise & I'll wait for their future 'updates' - blimey :p

Android 5.1 Lollipop should fix most of the issues if that's when you've had the most trouble, but that could be a few months away.

The best factory image is probably 4.4.4 (KTU84P): https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

It's really odd that you're having issues though. It makes me think that maybe there's a minor hardware fault or one of the apps you've got installed is causing issues. It's hard to say, but I can tell you that any anti-virus is pointless on Android and any memory "optimization" apps will actually worsen things.

Rang the Stevenage store and was told it had expired also.

It runs pure Android and receives updates directly from Google, so that's one very good reason to buy it over any other Android tablet.

Both myself & a family member are waiting for lollipop on our 2012 Nexus 7s, so that's not always the case. Even my LG G3 beat it to it.

The 2012 version has kind of been left behind due to it's age. It's poor compared to the 2013 version and Google would rather push people to upgrade, which is understandable. The update for the original Nexus is on the website though (5.0.2 LRX22G). Google simply hasn't pushed the update to all devices.

You'd expect an update for a LG G3 as it's a device that was only released in May 2014.

Excellent bit of kit, one complaint, USB port seems to go , like most tabs. Its wise to invest in a wireless charger, Google sells theirs at 34.99, I had to get one for daughter as usb port went for second time and it was out warranty

Got one for the wife from Sainsburys Camberley for £99 three weeks ago. None out on display but asked at the desk and a very helpful chap appeared and said he still had a few in stock.

Nice. Thought about buying an extra one and doing that as well. Seen some folk do it on youtube and looks pretty cool. Do you have it installed on the dash?

Same. Had it a month after it was released never had any issues apart from the odd crash once in about 6 months? That's brilliant., have had iPhones, other phones/tabs that have had much more problems.
It also runs perfectly smooth like the day I bought it(not updated it to lollipop as not all apps are optimised for it yet). If this is the 32gb version then an absolute bargain! I find 16gb Imo to be not worth it as use a lot of media. For home use ie streaming/surfing I don't imagine it to be a problem though.
I'm pretty sure you had a defective product or your installed apps were the issue as is with a lot of phones/tablets

Had this tablet and it was good but wasn't a fan of the design, bezels unnecessarily big and used to get really hot.

I did a lot of research on-line & I wasn't on my own, it's just temperamental, that's all I can say really. I do not use memory optimization or virus scanners, just a tool that allows me to manage system files & easily remove junk.

There aren't any specific hardware problems, as it works OK most of the time, aside from, as I say, unresponsiveness every now & then & other minor issues where Apps misbehave & as noted up there, the Wifi tends to be a little **** for me, the Vita is better :p

The updates are ridiculous, but that's the way the market has gone now - ping, new update, ping, new update, BIG ping - massive system update etc etc.

I think I'll dust off my ZX Spectrum & play Halls of the Things (_;)

Whats RMA?

Return Merchandise Authorisation..........it means to return to the factory for repair/replacement.

I got there and the sales guy confirmed that the deal had expired. It gave me a chance to compare the Linx 8" and the Nexus 7 side-by-side which was cool. I really want to love the Linx, but the low-resolution screen is a deal breaker for me :(
