Nexus 7 2013 16Gb ex demo £49.91 @ PC World

Seen these in a couple of branches of PC World so looks like a national offer rather than store specific. The one I bought had no charger (any 2 amp USB charger will work) but did include USB cable, manual & packaging.

Tablet itself is pristine but that may just be the luck of the draw depending how it was demo'd...

Being a Nexus device this is almost certainly the cheapest way to get Lollipop (Android 5) at the moment.

PC World are also doing the Logic Nexus 7 2013 starter kit (case, stylus, screen protector) for £1.99 (that deal already posted elsewhere).

Minor warning: Ones that have been used as demo models _can_ have poorer battery lives, as they have been powered on each day since they were unboxed.

Bargain, if they're in good condition.

There were 2 in PC World Aintree on Thursday (I bought 1) and saw 2 in PC World St Helens this afternoon.

Looks like they are getting rid of old demo tablets.

I picked up a Asus Memo Pad 8 for £49.91 in Currys today, ex demo but everything was in the box.

What does ex demo mean, is it when they are the display ones that you can test out?

Yes if you have a phone.

Actually you can't call stores direct. You go through to their sheffield call centre

Picked one up at pcworld bolton for 49 the other day.. Was pristine in box.. And worked perfect. Asked the staff and apparently some stores had two or three demo models provided by Google, But often only used one on display.. Like the poster says, luck of the draw as to condition I guess.

To go into a PC world tomorrow to chance it or not...

same going to go into PC world in nottingham and see if i can get any of these tomorrow

This would be good for a nexus 7 if they didnt update the firmware, which they probably didn't. After updating my nexus is a poor fraction of what it used to.... 8 hours to charge.. compared to 2 when first out of the box!! :(

Can confirm that PC World are selling a lot of ex demo tablets, stock is limited obviously and the tablets generally have some wear.

Me and my friend picked up from various stores:

Asus memo pad £1
Nook simple touch £1
Lenovo yoga 10 £50
Samsung note pro 10.1 £50

All had demo software on that needed to be removed.

Please note, some of the Demo tablets (specifically Samsung) are not to be sold to customers. They can be sold to staff only.

Did you just go in and ask about ex display tablets? And which location did you go to? Does anyone know where you can find branch telephone numbers? Theres 3 PC worlds near me and i wanted to ring in the morning to save time

They had some at the front of the store and I then asked staff who printed off a clearence list. They said they needed to sell them ASAP as head office wanted rid of them.

Yes if you have a phone.

Stores never answer their phones in my experience. You have to call a central number and they don't want to put you through either.

Been looking for one of these. Itll probably be a wild goose chase but thanks for the heads up.

Do you know if this is currys and pc world doing this offer or just pc world?

So obviously they won't be available in store to buy for the public!

It did but they recently released an update which sorts the ram issues out, couple of friends have them and they are all running fine now.

Yes if you have a phone.

Although it came out maybe wrong and the response was amusing.
i think this is alluding to the frustrating fact you cannot call a branch direct.
you have to call a premium number and jump through hoops.
It is worth trying say no to 0870 website.

Just noticed a few responses along the same line.... old news

What about Merry Hill Dudley?

You are unlikely to find someone who knows about each store and also even if there were some there yesterday there is every likelihood that someone else has bought them all now.

I think with a deal like this it is up to people to weigh up whether it is worth going on the off chance that they still have some, but don't be disappointed if there aren't any left

no way...
