The output is a bit weak and it seems very similar to their other model which gets less than favourable reviews...

True - it won't charge my MP3 player, wife's iPod or PS3 game pad. It will charge my works PDA though.

In theory I imagine this would enable me to hook my 2.5" drive (which is powered by two USBs) up to my DVD (divx) player.
Is anyone able to comment on whether this is likely?
The player has only one USB port, and there are no other USB devices near the TV I have in mind.

My other telly has a divx player and an xbox360, and the divx player was able to play films from the portable drive when I used the xbox to provide the additional power. (Yes, I know that's not necessary now that xboxes play divx, but they didn't used to! :P )

I don't understand why this won't charge all devices. It can supply 2x 500ma. 500ma is the maximum output allowed as required by the USB spec :?

Be annoyed if this doesn't charge my Zune :roll:

Appears I bought the other one too lol (it's still in the post)

Should have good grounds for full reimbursement if it doesn't work anyway as the description says works with all devices. Not to spec, not fit for purpose etc. Saying that I never returned the faulty £5 xbox 360 vga lead from Play as it was just too much hassle..

Spec on the OTHER charger:

Special Features
* Compact design
* Charges all devices that can be powered by a USB charging cable eg. Mobile phones, sat navs, Bluetooth headsets, mp3 players, digital cameras etc
* Built-in fuse with surge protection
* Red LED indicator
* Charging input: AC 100-240V, 50-60 Hz, 0.15A
* Charging output: DC 5V, 500 mA

Description
Just plug your USB charging cable into the USB mains chargerto charge your USB-powered electronic products such as mobiles phones, Bluetooth headsets, iPods and MP3 players quickly and safely in the comfort of your home or office.

this would be great if it could charge my PS3 controller. Does anyone know if the one posted by Moneyspider will work?

I bought 2 similar chargers with red/greed led indicators on a BUY 1 GET 1 FREE deal for £1.99 for the two off ebay fantastic quality (the ebay ones did not have dual usb charge through one - but who needs that when you can get two for £1.99 +P&P)

Never seen these before but what a great idea... Wish I'd have thought of it!!!

A bit disappointing if they don't do the job so well, but I'll wait to hear more from buyers before I dive in myself!

Theoretically it should work - connect the "data" plug to your DVD player and "additional power" plug to this (via a USB extension cable?) - but I'd steer clear due to the comments on weak power output.

Better to get something like this, about the same price if you're willing to wait for delivery from Hong Kong:

Is it possible to get these with more that two USB sockets on it?

Would be handy to have one with 4 or 5 on them when charging phone/ipod/sat nav etc

Same here, looks and feels like it was built by dead fish and pretty much fails to charge anything.

'eBay' is not a brand and as far as i'm aware cannot be used to be compared against deals here (along with Amazon Marketplace sellers)

To charge multiple outputs they ones posted above might be better suited (the 2000ma one) I can't see how they conform with spec but technically you should be able to supply up to 4 devices with (almost) 500ma through a basic hub.
Probably better chance in success with multiple plugs though :p
