Also....not being an expert on curtains....could someone help me please. My window is about 65" across...when the Argos description is 55" wide, is that in total for the pair or for just one of the curtains?

Its the width for one curtain. And that is the curtain stretched flat across the top too, not gathered at all. (just edited post here.. realised curtains are ring top ones.... gathering the curtain by hand doesnt apply). I think for a nice appearance you would need two pairs for your window width, otherwise I think they will look too pulled flat, which always looks ... miserly? lol. You could buy two pairs and see, then take one back if you think you can get away with it. Theyre still a great bargain for cotton velvet lined curtains, which are also very good at insulation and are great for the winter.

Does anyone know any different and think this would be wide enough for theyiddo's window?

look good anybody got some ?

Ring top curtains can't be pulled flat across because of the metal rings at the top, I bought 2 lots of ring tops and when they are closed there are lots of gathers which is what you want ideally.

55" is the width of just one curtain (two in a pack) so when closed they will easy cover 65"
I have a pair and my windows are 72" accross and they cover them fine, they are not stretched out when closed but still loads of material spare.

all the velvet curtains are reduced >>>http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&langId=-1&q=VELVET&pp=20&c_1=1|cat_9554238|Clearance%20furniture%20and%20furnishings|9576563

Thanks for the info everyone. Have reserved a set.

We got these exact curtains a couple of weeks ago when they first were reduced. They are very well made curtains and very thick. They also feel very nice too. We first got the 55" ones as we measured and they would fit but only if you pulled them tight so took them back and got the 90" ones so they don't have to be stretched shut. Had no problems at all exchanging them. Great deal:thumbsup:

Plus because they are ring top ones you don't have to mess around with curtain hooks, always a bonus:)
#12
I have these in my lounge and they're great, especially as I need to black-out due to using a projector. They look a lot more expensive than they are as well.
#13
We even bought another pair to recover all our dining room chair seat cushions!! You cant even buy Chocolate brown velvet material at this price!!
#14
just reserved a pair voted hot thanks

gross! if you don't like brown like myself, then there's some nice faux suede curtains for not a lot more in B&Q's colour range.

I have these in both living room and bedroom. Good price for these, black out the light pretty well, better than the cream coloured curtains we have before.
#22
My window is approx 100". I've decided to go for the 90" by 72" in chocolate and cream curtains ( will choose the best colour ). Also, a debate me and the OH are having - should the curtains in your living room go down to the floor or stop just under the windowsill?
#23
Not got any near me, might have to think about getting them deliverered
#24
is it actually 20-99 for a PAIR or just one (sorry if that's a daft question)?

£20.99 for a pair as in two as in one windows worth

As for the bottom of window or floor argument, we went to the floor and they look great, very cosy when closed and lovely colour.

Anyone else having trouble reserving these? Tried a few on both FF and IE and just keep getting,

"Sorry! We've had a problem with the link you've just selected."

should be ok if you don't have a modern house with non victorian high ceilings and big coving. I have to go for the mid length. I quite like them though!

Was wondering if they were as 'blackout' as the chocolate?

I know they can't be pulled completely flat, but how flat they can be pulled depends on the thickness of the curtain pole they are on. A relatively thin pole means they would be pulled flatter. I have that style in my son's room and I still think that they look **** if pulled too flat. I'd still get two...

Definitely floor! windowsill length looks miserly, or... 60's ish lol. Unless its a really wide short window, unusual shape, then ... Id be in a panic. :p
