Hi angechalkie, welcome to HUKD. Can you please read the help threads for newcomers in my sig. A thread title of "boots" doesn't really tell people what's in the thread, so I've updated that.

Is is these??

Managed to find a set myself (Peel Centre Stockport) - marked up with £10 stickers along with a number of other electrical goods. Part of their Summer Clearance.

Were two left on the shelf when I was finished - and Mrs Esarty should be very happy this evening!

Mrs Esarty was very happy with her new straighteners - for a while. Right up until she plugged them in and they didn't work......

hi, did you press the temperature button at the top as they don't light up until you have pressed that. mine are fab.

Yeah - she pressed the button and the lights would start flashing to say it was warming up, but they would just continue to flash and the plates would stay cold. Managed to get back there at lunchtime though and swap for the last one in the shop.

Fingers crossed!!!

Update: Mrs Esarty was very happy when the second pair worked perfectly!!!
